Sturm getting a pasting from Larnaca
90th minute equaliser sends Ufa through. They're lucky to be in Europe - only there as the Cup winners went bust.
Finished 7-0 on agg to Larnaca. Dundalk would have fancied their chances against Sturm.
Sturm were down to ten men for the last half hour, and conceded four goals in that time.
Looks like they just gave up in the heat and rolled over. Still an impressive scoreline, home and away.
On the Luxembourg teams, 2012/13 was when Dudelange beat Red Bull (and hammered Tre Penne 11-0) Their other three teams only beat Faroese opposition between them.
In 2014/15, their four teams didn't win a tie between them (including losing to Dundalk). In 2015/16, they only knocked out Bala Town in the 93rd minute (and lost to UCD and Rovers). In 2016/17, they again lost all their ties (including to St Pats)
They've had two good years as well - 2013/14 (beat Finnish, Albanian and Dutch opposition, and took Tromso to penalties) and 2017/18 (they beat Moldovan and Azeri opposition, as well as Rangers)
So it looks a bit like the LoI really, with a random mix of decent years and crap years. Hard to know if anything really kicked it off.
In tonight's games, HJK got hammered 4-1 at home, but Kukesi are 1-0 up going into the second half, which means Ireland will drop a place in the rankings if Cork don't at least draw.
And elsewhere, Dudelange go 1-0 up on Legia!
Dudelange 2-0 Legia!
4-1 on aggregate now. That's amazing stuff. Still got half the team that lost to UCD, including Stelvio, who scored the second.
Dean Ebbe with another for TNS, the equaliser away to Midtylland; his fourth of the campaign. They're 2-1 down now; 4-1 on aggregate
Zenit 2-0 up on Minsk now; 4-3 down on aggregate and just one goal away from a great turnaround. Still 25 to go.
I think they took us for granted. They had a new manager and had just finished third in the league, so it was a good time to catch them.
Also, Legia are a mess right now. They've wasted their Champions League money in a way which would make an LoI team envious.
But Sometimes stuff just happens, and it makes it hard to compare individual results. I think that's what makes football so great. Other sports (rugby in particular, but it's far from the only one) are far more predictable, and a result like this would simply never happen.
Sorry; thought it was 4-1 for some reason.
They're down to ten men now, so that looks over.
Spoke to soon! 3-0 Zenit.
And Legia get a goal back.
Any recommendations for a decent steam for City Rosenborg ?
I presume RTÉ RealPlayer no good to you?
It's on RTÉ2
4-0 Zenit now!
Incredible stuff.
Qualifying rounds of Europe really is one of the greatest events in the football calendar.
Molde 3-0 Hibs with ten to go. So no European football for Daryl Horgan this season (who I presume signed too late to be registered for the competition)
Erling Haaland with two. Son of Alf Inge; played against UCD in the Youth League last year.
No cant get it here.
Rte player working in Berlin. Happy days!
Extra time in St Petersburg. Artem Dzyuba with the last two goals for them - same guy who scored three goals at the World Cup for Russia.
And on a similar note, Andrey Arshavin still playing; started for Kairat Almaty as they went out to Sigma Olomouc earlier today.
Solid start for Cork here, but they did the same last week.
Poor wayward shot from McCormack. Decent start from Cork, but inevitably there will be an easily avoided goal conceded at some point.
Well that was predictably ****e.
McNulty is a liability to Cork. Embarrassing stuff again.
More brutal goalkeeping. Shocking decision to punch a very catchable ball. If you're going to punch, you have to make sure you get a good connection on it.
And there it is. A woeful no brained hoof of the ball down the field, pumped back in, McNulty does a David James. A familiar pattern.
Feck sake McNulty why didn’t he catch a simple cross
Oh dear. This could get embarrassing.
This will end brutally
In other Cork news actually, Kevin Long starts for Burnley against Istanbul Basaksehir. 0-0 on aggregate half an hour in. Ward and Hendrick also start
Zenit 5-1 Dinamo Minsk is the latest after 110 minutes; 5-5 on aggregate with Minsk hanging on on away goals now. But Zenit must be tiring after 45 minutes with ten men.
4 European games and no goals. Caulfield reminds me of Fenlon in Europe.
6-1 Zenit! That game gets better and better.
Five to go for Minsk to rescue it.
Rosenborg v Cork is pure men against boys stuff unfortunately.
John Caulfield must be considering Plan B.
