Tom Fitz, Kanturk got 1st one and young Danny Casey ex Castleview played wide left. He could have won it for army. Alot of Cork based snr lge players sitting in stand for army ineligible. Enjoyable game though.

Tought babsy stood out for the aul..
I no they switched formation, but still would have left him centre half,he was winning everything!
No 5 and no 8 for defence forces were very good also!
Tom went off 10 minutes after scoring with his hamstring, hopefuly fit for game with Kilumney in 2 weeks!
Who does that lenny guy play for??fella who got the goal?
Second AUL goal scored by Vinny Lonergan. Plays with Glen Celtic.
Mixed emotions I'd say for the AUL management team. The defence forces had the more chances but yet with 10 to go we are a goal up. If I was Donal I'd be furious with the defending for the goals especially the 2nd. But considering they still had a chance after the equaliser which the AUL keeper made a fine save I think they will be happy overall with a point. It's not the end of the world and with 2 home games left they still have every chance of coming out of the group. Thought there was a good balance to the team, looked dangerous going forward especially first half but the Defence Forces superior fitness showed in the 2nd half. Although I wouldn't have started 3-5-2 the management deserve credit for changing it as soon as they realised it wasn't working. Thought they used the bench well too and made good subs at the right times. So overall well done to all the lads wasn't easy in the conditions and they were up against a decent opposition. A point in the bag and onwards they go
Missed the game because of work any one have an opinion on how they could improve the next day ? Obviously a draw is not a bad place to start off anyways
Big game on sat has to be game of the week Coachford v Glen can't wait
Sunday 4th November Ko. 10.45 am Unless Otherwise Stated
Killumney Utd v Douglas Hall A (MSL), Killeady, D.Deady
Should tell a lot this fixture. Arguably the best team in Cork AUL vs the best in MJL.
I no it was only a friendly but we thumped that hall team 5-2 in a friendly there not great to be honest
1for, must say yere B team have come on a lot in fairness to them, 2 years ago i bought our C team up there and gave them an awful hammering 8/9 it was and wasnt far off the same score in our place!!!
Corinthians and ringmahon would have something to say about that "the best in the MJL"
did you? i think they were just geting together then to be fair .that wouldnt be happening now i think ...they are a good team now lots of good footballers a match for anyone, i hope they win somthing this year their hard work deserve it to be honest . i dont comment on behalf of the glen as a rep ok lads i comment on them .my opinion.
Hubba you off to Tralee tonight ?
Was out as well wed night, lynch non existent, eammon same (as I predicted he would be when the squad was named) jc I thought was good, great goal he got. Looked ok going forward but only for babsy at the back they would have been destroyed in my opinion, linzell improved as the game went on, other lad at the back looked like a fella who has never played at the back before, poor under crosses even worse when being ran at. Kearney must be massively disappointed with his display but we all know hes much better than that. 4 park players in startin team and all were poor, one of which was alot worse. Surely 442 from now on, after that defensive display they were lucky to get a draw, but still in with a good shot of getting out of the group if they get it together. Lets hope they get better from here on in
A good game of competitive football between ourselves and Blackstone last night in Mayfield. Finished up 2-0 to Blackstone with one of our former players getting a goal against us (hate when that happens). I was impressed with our lads performance to put it up to a good Premier A side. 0-0 at half time, 1-0 until the last kick of the game. It's great when 2 teams want to get the ball down and knock it about, doesn't matter what division you're in if your team can play football you can mix it with anyone. 3 injuries picked up with one of our lads breaking his foot, it's a disaster considering it wasn't a bad tempered game just 50/50 challenges that our lads lost.
you have to be around a long time to out smart the hill and horse24 and speedy .to be fair leeviews keeper was outstanding with some great saves .very even till after half time blackstone having a 20 min spell showing why their prem a .a lot of plus from the game that will stand to the view..touching on blackstone who are building well under those lads i named jason forde was very good for them .no one will get anything easy in the faira.leeview always try to play football but were just short on the night .
Kerry league 2 MJL 1
Leeview 0 v 2 Blackstone. Took us half an hour to get going and Leeview battled hard for everything. Lots of football played as was said. In last 15 of first and first bit of second, Leeview keeper pulled off three saves which should be on Sky Sports News!! Game opened up in last half an hour and our poacher made it one nil. Chances for both sides and we sealed it with a cracker in the 90th min.
Leeview played very well and will do themselves justice in the league.
Last week v D Hall, play was BLOWN up for injured players. First time Douglas Hall fella ran with the uncontested bounce before ref blew it up and our player pushed their guy away and gave the ball to them. Second time, the Hall guy put it so close to our corner flag, Tiger would have been proud.
Last night, Leeview couldn't do enough for us before and after the game and in the game itself sportsmanship was king.
Is it too easy to mention the river divide????
The ref last night was excellent......except for one of my pet hates....our centre back was caught accidentally by their forward. Whistle blew and both teams trotted out the field. Centre forward apologised..... Ref pointed for free in!!! We pointed out his error - forward agreed he had apologised. He made an error, ball was dead, easy to correct decision but didn't.Mistakes happen and some aren't fixable but this was easy to fix. Good ref though as I said.
Point in first game of group guarantees something to fight for in Game 3 so AUL still on course.
Check the secs book, does rule 9 allow professional players in AUL?
Kanturk 1 Springfield 0
Carrigtwohill Utd A 6- 0 Bohemians
I hear Coachford v Glen 1-1 gone to extra time.
Richmond 2 Killumney 6
The glen unfortunately couldn't master hubbas master tactic to beat coachford today and were beaten on penalties
all light hearted banter to be fair no blinkers on here the glen never deserved to lose this they were fantastic 1st half
could have led..coachford better in 2nd half but i think only when keane came on.. he looked busy and got on the ball game change.longie made a fantastic save from jc to push the effort off the post .went to pens and what a game ...glen celtic can be proud i see 2 or 3 in the that team that would not look out of place in the aul team.
1-1 with greenwood today disappointing result to be honest we were brutal in the first half and they led 1 nil at the break scrappy break away goal. Tactical changes in the 2nd half by our manager and the whole game changed being honest. We were all over them we got a penalty with a half an hour to go a blatant handball 1-1 then two sent off 1 from each team for nothing handbags second yellows. Greenwood had a 2nd player sent off disgraceful tackle late on in fairness there tactics worked to a extent 11 men behind the ball and try and counter.
yes we will and i dont think it will be pens this time but i seen you once and have a few nice players.now i posted about who i think are good and i dont care what anyone says that glen team are unreal one of the best well done culla ...also the glen b team are playing great football onwards and up for them .both teams.
