Definitely genuine. The Sun is a satire-free zone.

A Sun exclusive repeated in places all over the web including Foot.ie, therefore it seems real enough?
All that has a sort of a news laundry effect on the original dirty item?
After enduring a relentless hounding over a period of 20 years during any one of a hundred controversies and managing to have no comment, Roy Keane's parents are all of a sudden going to break a pattern of a lifetime and open up to The Sun?
Written by a notorious pair named Ann & Barry. Clearly a wind-up.

McCarthy's job without a doubt. Much rather him than MON anyway. Roy Keane......do me a favour.
I'm not sure if you guys are taking the p*ss. You really don't think it's genuine?
As far as I can make out, Ann Mooney is the Irish Sun's southern correspondent. Barry Moran doesn't seem to do spoof pieces either. The Sun just doesn't do irony. I think I'd have to reformulate my outlook on life if they were proven to be attempting satire!
Of course it's genuine. Ann Mooney seems to have some sort of access to Keane's parents - a family friend possibly.

So it was real then?
Surely the answer was in yesterday's 'Irish' Sun.
If anyone was daft enough to buy it...
She's the one who revealed in an exclusive that Roy sends them £1,000 every week or month. I 'd say she just scoops up gossip, scours dustbins etc. i.e. if they use dustbins in Cork.
Any word on him for the Celtic job? Must be one of the favourites.
It would be an ideal job for him, even he couldn't f**k that one up. I think I could manage Celtic to a title myself next season. If it was a choice between Brian Laudrup and Roy I know who I'd pick. I don't know what Roy has done in managment to make him 'one of the favourites'????
Winning the SPL is taken for granted but qualifying for the CL and getting to the last 16 would be the target.
Atm, Roy has little or no necessary tactical acumen to guide a club through the CL and why would Celtic take that risk?
Then, if Roy's getting an unbelievable salary of Eur700k p/a for sitting 3 seats away from MON and still able to hold onto his pundit gig, Celtic would have to offer him a fortune to manager their club and they can do much better for half the price.
I can't see the Celtic board paying for a new manager. They'll end up appointing someone from the dole queue.
Even being wealthy I cant see why he would want to live in glasgow. I thought it was glascow until the auto correct just corrected me. Anyway I would not want to live there.
Re the Celtic manager appointment, Roy's status today has been reduced from raging hot favourite to just a person of interest.
Perhaps Desmond just wanted a powwow.
Celtic said yesterday they were talking to a few people and O'Neill suggested they perhaps weren't as dead-set on Roy as had been made out.
He was not commentating on the England match, too busy packing his bags I expect.
I imagine he was probably getting ready for the Ireland match.
There is hope he'll stay where he is, but if as per the other thread he's even on €500k, a luxury we can't afford either, regardless of his 'abilities'.
What is he currently supposed to be on and what might he expect at Celtic?
I would expect the Celtic job to be better paid myself as it is more than a few games a year
and he will be manager not sidekick.
I just want to say that Roy Keane was an unmitigated success at Sunderland - irrespective of what happened at Ipswich - and every successful manager has troughs in the road. Keane is still young in managerial terms. Getting Celtic into the Champions League would erase a lot of doubts about taking/being offered this job and his reasons for doing so.

More experienced managers with better Celtic teams, failed to get through the CL qualifiers on different occasions.
It's a road strewn with banana skins for somebody of Roy's managerial ilk, playing teams from summer football leagues, who just might get lucky.
Celtic fans still remember Artmedia and curse Strachan, and that's despite what was achieved afterwards.
There is no such thing as 'well if at first you don't succeed with CL qual, then try again', because that leaves a very quiet football season, minus competition and minus 1/3 revenue.
When Roy took the assistant managers ireland job....he said he had alot to learn about management as he realised he had made mistakes in club management. He said he felt O'neill was the man to learn under....so for me....if roy takes celtic job...then does he feel he has learnt enough despite only been in the job for 4 games (2 defeats , 1 draw and a win against a minnow side) ?....or was his initial quote about learning under o'neill just some rhetoric B.S to keep everyone happy ?
I think you nailed it in the final few words. Keane took the Ireland job because it came along while he was doing nothing. He'll take the Celtic job if it's offered because it's bigger than what he's doing with Ireland. If he's offered the Man Utd job while at Celtic, he'll take that too. He's no different to most really.
Always moaning about something. My Keandred spirit.
What's he moaning about?
Roy Keane, not DeLorean.
What's Keane moaning about?
If Roy Keane used the forum...
I seen geysir is online. He's probably posting a comment right now. I'd waited long enough. I f****** hit him hard. The mouse was there I think. And don't ever stand over me sneering about Anthony Pilkington.
Roy leaves ITV and encounters a ****ing cameraman:

John Terry is the favourite to step in for Keane on ITV. That should be fairly lame so should save me flicking between channels. ITV is a pain to access on Sky anyway so it might be for the best all round! We need to savor every moment of Bill's swan song anyway!
There should be a sin binning on here for rehashing old hat.keep everyone on their toes.
