all that park team played in 1B last season so if they do go down the players will stay it was like promotion for them this season.
i dont want wembley to go up cos they are poachers and are ruining the game at 17s and youth level

wembley are only doin what the likes of fairview have done for years. fair play to them for gettin together a side that can compete in the fai. it can only be good for limerick football in the long run.
in referral to my own club park. we have had terrible luck all year with goalkeepers and individual errors. i believe we can compete but things have to be right internally
wembley have being doing this for 25 years
so you begrudge the kids the chance to compete in the fai. ive done it myself played with fairview youths and litterally the whole team was poached. ive no complaints i won trophies, which i wouldnt of done in the clare league.
im not begrudging any player and ive no grudge im just stating facts that wembley poach and have done for years.i think w.r.f.c is getting excited he usually drops the ball at this stage....:)
best palyers in town want to play for best team.... any good young player knows if they wanted to be spotted by scouts that they have to progress to the latter stages of the fai...... so they look at wembleys record in previous years in underage competitions and realise they want to sign for wembley.... common sense really.... since u haven played before see's it u maybe dont understand that.... shane treacy got spotted by an arsenal scout when he scored hat trick in fai quarter final against stella maras i think.... and he was over there for 2 years.... these players just want to play at the highest level possible...... in most cases players would approach current wembley players and ask them to get them a form sdo they can sign for wembley...... fairview and geraldines have done this in the past.... surely only jealousy on see's it part... do u not think it is good for limerick soccer to have a club reaching the latter stages of fai's and munster cups......
jealousy? what am i supposed to be jealous of?
[QUOTE=see's it;578764]jealousy? what am i supposed to be jealous of?[/QUOTE
do u not think i made any valid points above????????
anyone else an opinion?????
i don't see what he has to be jealous of either - this is a JUNIOR soccer thread and what have wembly done inte last 5-10 years
see's it stated that he hoped that any other team but wembley to get promoted cause he said they were poaching players at u17s and youth level only responding and defending wembley..... wembley won a munster cup about ten years ago but think u should always look to the future instead of the past if u want to progress.... and hopefully with the youth set up in place can get promoted this year and stay in premier....easier said than done tho...
anyone got the league fixtures for the weekend.... would look at the ldmc website but blocked on my computer for some reason....
There we have it lads if you want to get loads of goals next year just
sign shane fitz and cyril maher.2 GRRRRRRRREEEEEEEAAAAAAATTTT signings.
Turned summerville around this season ,was wondering how they were
getting so many goals in their matches but the above 2 names explains it..
The thing about wembly poaching players at 17's and youth level is that they will find it difficult to hold onto these players when they become junior players because they will still want to play with the best team that they can. Plus just because someone is good at underage doesn't mean that they will be good junior players and if they do become good junior players it could take years for them to develop, just look at the pike team they have no young lads playing with them and they won the league last season.
I personally think that the wembly thing is good for the youths playing with them but it is not good for the rest of the youths in the division, just look at some of the scorelines. If it wasn't for geraldines they would have zero local competition.

Lads,
Poaching players or players wanting to sign for "bigger clubs" is a regular occurance in all levels of footy.
The Dines, Pike, View and a few others done it at schoolboy level approximately 10years or so ago and then other Junior clubs poached those same players,, and now its Wembley signing players from other clubs.
It has its pro's and cons.
The pro's being Wembley become stronger and therefore Limerick has a great chance of a successful youth/u17 team in the later stages of both national and provincial comps,
The cons being that the rest of the Limerick clubs gets that bit weaker due to the fact that some of them lose probably their better players.
