Looking at the league table I would agree with you but the way results in the division have been going would have to include Turnpike and Kilkishen in the mix. Especially Kilkishen as they have won 5 out of last six beating connelly and moher and throwing away a 5-2 lead against ennistymon. Those teams you have mentioned have to play each other aswell
Well i suppose you will have a better idea of how ready you guys are for the premier after the cup game .
Tulla beware is all i say Funky !!!!;)
No clue. Coaches? Down to the club to produce players no?
Shannon town is a decent club and probably one of the better ones around the Clare Limerick region if you start comparing locals clubs to the Shannon area. Clare league will get stronger with ST in it!
Shannon Town would win the first division without a doubt (if they kept the same squad they have this season for next) They would more than likely stay up in the premier, if not finish top 5/6. With them having a B team could the A and B team both join the 3rd division or is there a rule that prevents this? If so, surely the A team would join the 2nd division and the B team the 3rd. Don't know how they could be put straight into the premier or the 1st division doesn't make any sense and as was said isn't fair on other clubs in those divisions
still not heard of the reason why Shannon town would join the clare league. They left in the first place because they were too strong for the clare league and fancied their chances playing ion a a stronger league. Don't know how many years ago that was , wonder how many of them have been spent in the premier league in Limerick?
Now that they can't get back up there , they plan to go to the 'weaker' league, why is this?
What is the benefit? anybody from ST was to let us know the thinking?
also think that football unites is right, still the problem of to many clubs in Shannon , all supported by players that have little loyalty and are a fickle as football fans....
Is it confirmed that st are switching to the clare league? Neenah are moving from tipp to limerick now and apparently going in at 1A so will replace st
shuffleruns I posted this news ages ago clare people confirmed story in last week or so .. as I already said the only thing that can stop them returning to clare league is if the limerick league don't sign the release paperwork , but by all accounts limerick will let them go but don't think they will ever be welcomed back to limerick if things don't work out in clare
Cheers
Looks very likely that Shannon Town will be in Clare First Division next season. Managers last club will be there too and seems a few clubs already there not happy. Next delegate meeting is goin to be interesting
I'm hearing Shannon Town are joining the Clare League next season.... Roll up roll up!
two feet up .. most of them live/ work in Shannon not to hard to bump into them ? why would they they want to share reasons on this forum they had an EGM A couple of weeks back and voted in favour of move . local talk is the move was done favour of the underage teams reckon they will get more kids picked for kennedy cup/ underage county teams etc and should help players development ?
Like Old git says, why would anyone from shannon town feel the need to come on here and justify their decision. By all accounts the vote at the egm was unanimous and the fact that they actually held one has to be admired. I think its about time people on here start to give them credit, they have been going for nearly 50 years now and like all clubs have had their ups and downs and im pretty sure whatever their reasons it was done for what they think is the good of THEIR club
Jeez lads, calm down, I don't think anyone was on here not giving them credit or saying anything negative - people just wondering about the reason behind the decision - that's all. I don't even think people were asking them to justify their decision - more just interested. People are very sensitive.
This is a football forum after all - or is it not ?
And looks like hibs will be playing 2A footy next season. Soccer in Shannon is on the up
