Actually I'd say RD is just below average height...
Sean South is a Sligo fan. Good job living up to the bald man/comb analogy though.
I don't see any Longford fans on here claiming anything different.
I'm just glad Roddy has finally awoken this sleeping giant of Irish football.
A half decent showing in the first 17 games of one of the poorest first divisions in a long time and they are already back to being one of the biggest clubs in Ireland.
You can't use this line on Longford fans
and then claim Athlone fans are saying this..
In general LOI clubs arguing about "big" clubs is ridiculous. They're all tiny. Some more tiny than others, but it's mostly cyclicalQuote:

I'm not sure if I follow you? The first part was referring to the fact that no Longford fans were claiming to be anything but a small club.
The second part is clearly meant sarcastically referring to Athlones inflated opinion of themselves this year.
Of course the big clubs argument is ridiculous, similarly the majority of all boosting/slagging over attendances is ridiculous considering we are all in the same boat.
Well, for a start, I never called Harps a big club. Never would.
My point simply was, based on relative recent history and evidence, that were Harps and Waterford to be pushing for promotion, they would be getting large first division attendances. You just have to look back at the past few years to see this.
Athlone are already achieving in around 500-600. They're going as well as they have in about 10 years in a town that hasn't supported the club in about just as many years. I don't see where they're going to be outnumbering other supports that have an already large enough 'sunshine support' base.
Wasn't trying to start any argument, nor was I explaining any 'anti-Athlone' agenda that I have. Some people just decide to read from it what they want to hear.
Fair enough but Waterford are pushing for promotion and they still have **** crowds. I know Harps would get good crowds but i dont see this Waterford would be getting big crowds.
I think I'm losing my mind! :knife:
Where are you going calling us a small club?? We have huge finance coming in from our oil tycoons out in the Far East which enables us to have top quality facilities and sign all the top players on this island and abroad. Well that's what Roddy says so it must be true!!!
Funny thing is only thing Roddy said was that ye offered Curran more money than us which we couldnt compete with. Saying that things have changed and there should be some news soon :P Love having a college in Athlone :P
Wrong there. Roddy said earlier in the season that with the finances we have we should be winning the league hands down!! But we all know one thing for sure....Roddy is one of the biggest spoofers out there!! And we turned curran down from what I was told back in Salthill a couple of weeks ago!! We have a new striker signed from Rovers so why the need for another one!!
This is getting a bit silly.
You're being a bit silly!!! :D
to be fair any support at these times is good as people don't have money in general. clubs have balance books better.
It dosn't matter how low the attendances go,as long as you can swing a slagging on the back of it. Specially on the LOI banter page :D
Athlone Town V Salthill Devon 415 Official
As the Longford lads mull over their response when they return from sunbathing. 4 hours and still nothing in. Is there peace at last ?
I assumed they'd gone off to hijack the Enda Curran deal.
They're down in Cobh having money fights.
A bit annoyed I couldn't go :(
Edit: 1-0 ahead!

OVERALL ATTENDANCE: 225,517
Definitely an over estimate from ET. More in the region of 1800 or so.
I've sent off an email, looking for an official attendance. I do it most weeks when there's no official attendance given, but we'll see if there's a response.
Bray v Bohs - 2,500 est
Unless you havent seen above posts, this crowd is 'under review' Benno, seems to be way out and not just from above posts either.
their looked to be more than 415 at athlone v salthill game
Wexford v Waterford attendance was 365.
No reply from Bray as of yet. Anyone here with any sort of knowledge of Bray that'd be able to help out? Or a more realistic estimate?
I would have to say extratime is well over estimated, in my opinion I would have said there was around 1800 or so.
From the highlights on MNS the home canvased stand looked half empty so that big attendance seemed far fetched. unless Bohs had nearly 1500 under the cameras!
If I don't get any reply from the club before next updates on the thread, I'll just go with 1,800.
Dundalk V Bray
LMFM RADIO@LMFMRADIO
Attendance: 1,684.
Other PD as per ET
St Pats v Cork 1,094
UCD v Shels 602
Bohs v Drogs 1,194
Did the crowd at the RSC last night at least reach four figures, after the online campaign?
All things considered that's good in Waterford. I think it was yesterday, or the day before, I was listening to RTE or Newstalk about how the city and county is one of the unemployment blackspots in Ireland. I know it has a base from the late-90's with Crystal etc, but just keeping the club going is a real ask.
