Did Star beat Kilmallock today? that would bring a lot of teams into the relegatoin dog fight.
Kilmallock 4-5 Star
Mungret 0-2 Regional
corbally 1-0 shannon.
a even enough first half with little chances although corbally had 2 goals disallowed for offside.strong windy conditions in first half that didnt help either team.conditions settled in the second half and corbally started to get on top.jason o brien went close with 2 long range efforts and corbally also had afew more chances which they failed to convert.it looked like things were heading for a draw until gary o grady hit a rocket of a free kick from 35yards which flew straight into the top corner after 88mins givng the shannon keeper no chance.overall an entertaining game with both teams battling for the 3 pts.in fairness to shannon they gave there all up til 90mins and were unlucky not to get a point. corbally were best served on the day by kieran costelloe, jason o brien and gary o grady while brian power and packie darcy played well for shannon.
corbally team- fyffe,ryan,hanley,costelloe,sherlock,o brien,o grady,cox,o gorman,crowley,o donoghue.
subs- o meara for o gorman(70mins),savage for o donoghue(75mins)

Kilmallock 4-5 Star
Star went 2 up inside 5mins with a great start, through goals from Dale Mc & Derek Hannon, Kilmallock pulled a goal back more or less within 2 mins of Star going 2 up.
Kilmallock then tacked on 2 more before HT (one through a peno), to lead 3-2 at the break, they then went 4-2 up on the hour.
Star then scored after 65min through Hannon again to make it 4-3, and were awarded a peno on 70mins which was scored again by Hannon (Hat Trick), to make it 4-4, with Kilmallock having their centre back shown a red card for the incident as he was clearly the last man.. Then Kilmallock were awarded a peno on 75mins, which was saved by Star keeper Alex Kelly, and then Star were awarded a peno on 80mins which was also saved by R.Egan, but with time running out Star striker Thomas Butler popped up with the winner with less than 10mins to go.
Star team: A Kelly, P Collins, P Lyons, A Morton, K O'Doherty, B O'Doherty, D McNamara, R Flynn, M McDonnell, D Hannon, T Butler.
Res: D McNamara, J O'Regan, G Walters, G Roche, G Busoli, G Tully.
Also have to say, Kilmallock have a great set up and a very young and good team, and best of luck to them for the season.
Transfer
Lads, can someone please confirm to me exactly how long it takes to register a new player if he is being transferred from one club to another?
Ive heard 48hrs, 5 working days, 7 working days, 2 weeks!!!!!! Please can someone put me out of my misery asap!!! Thanks
you heard wrong, fairview deserved the win, were by far the better team.agree with poster on bennis save top class and who knows if that had gone in but the view had loads of chances and even when down to ten men looked like they would score.mcgarry and barrett were good at the back and kelleher a threat up front though given the lack of fitness in balla,s back four that wouldn,t be difficult.
its only 48 hours not 7 days, were did you get 7 days
Anyone able to shed any light on a Cup known as the Cromer Cup ?

Mungret 3-0 Star Rvs
Mungret went 2 up after 15mins after a good start (the 2nd goal was a header that came back off the post hit the Star keeper and just crossed the line), then Star came into it a bit more but with chances fairly even it stayed 2-0 at HT to Mungret.
Second half Star must have had 7/8 clear cut chances (5 of which were 1 on 1) to Mungret's 2 or 3, but Star just couldn't put the ball in the back of the net and while pushing to get back in the game were caught out with a 3rd (which was clearly controlled by the Mungret players hand before scoring), Star were also refused a blatant peno in the first half while the score was 2-0.
Star team:
Alex Kelly, Pat Collins, Alan Morton, Paul Lyons, Ger Tully, Mark McDonnell, Kevin O'Doherty, Brian O'Doherty, Dale Mc, Derek Hannon, Thomas Butler.
Res: Kevin Barry (used), Derek McNamara (used), Alan Carroll (used),,,,, Glen Walters, Jim O'Regan, Geoff Roche, Darren Clancy, Paul Lonergan, Richi Flynn (all not used).
only saw the last 15 mins of pike V fairview today but pike seemed well on top.was it like this the whole game?thought the call for a free that led to pikes 3rd goal was very dubious.i personally thought it was a harsh free to be given against fairview.in saying that tho fairview defence didnt deal with it and moloney pounced.he is letal in the box.fairview will be looking hard at the 4th goal also.great cross by hanrahan and good header to finish by hartnett.nobody marking him in the box though.cant get away with that against a team of pikes quality
heard Bennis was the cause of 2 of the goals to-day, is that true, looks like Pikes league if it goes to a match between the 2 of them at end of season, you have to make Pike the favourites,
thought colbert an moloney were outstanding for pike today.
Great win for Pike yesterday, played some good stuff
Take the bitching about refs somewhere else,it's been done to death at this stage.
This weekends fixtures are added above (under league table)
It needed to be highlighted because currently it is not acceptable for certain referees to be officiating premier league games when they are not of the proper standard. How else should we voice our opinions? This is a forum to discuss such matters I was led to believe. Standards have dropped so low that it needs to be addressed or players and management will get disillusioned. This may sound OTT but this has been the feedback regarding refereeing standards for a long time now and its only getting steadily worse.
Lads i agree with ye on the refs, have been to alot of games this year and correct me if i'm wrong but the referees have a tendency to give free kicks to the team that favours the side of the pitch he is on so he wont have to run as far to keep up with the play. It was particulary noticeable at the Fairview game on sunday whilst it looked like he gave fairview an awful lot it was actually because he didnt want to be running back up the pitch, call me crazy but many of the officials locally struggle to keep up with the play and alot of them are calling offside decisions from miles away leading to many rows
As for the game sunday fairview shud never have let Pik eback in to win the game after dragging themseves back to 2-2, in fairness to Pike their two full backs and two wingers were bombing on late in the game and fairview couldnt handle the attacking pike were doing
