Littleman i was at the game and i can tell you that Willow were the better side.
The ref was not great but he sent off players from both sides. The ref did
not deside this game you should get new sources or maybe go to the
game???????????

Could the Corkonians look up the definition of a public forum? I voiced an opinion, which as a registered member on here I'm more than entitled to do. I watched the game as a neutral and stated what I saw. And I certainly don't post up here to be "rated", I've not got an ego problem. And littleman if you've a problem my PM box is always open. There's a difference between humility and the stating of opinion.
To say it was tactically sound to have all 11 players inside your own box for Pike's corners is a bit far fetched you'd have to agree no? From what I saw in my very own opinion, "Springers" were looking for penalties at 1-1(regardless if you dis/agree it's an OPINION) or at the very least slowing the game to crawl speed, keeper slow with kickouts, players hitting the ball away, the usual stuff.
Yes, for a 2A Cork team they did very well, frustrated an average Pike team. And they've to be commended for that at least, I just couldn't see how a team in the last 16 weren't trying to push on and try and take the game. Regardless of division.
And that penalty decision, could have gone either way really, from my viewing it looked as if they collided with each other, both having an eye on the ball. The Pike keeper should never have gone for it in my opinion. On another day that would easily have been given. That's cup football.
And the Springfield sending off was justified, as I've said before the Pike No.5 was booked for a hand ball in the first half, so the Ref had to be consistent, it was a second bookable offense for the player, the player certainly didn't take it well. And to rubbish the bias linesmen claims, Pike were caught offside, according to the stats I recorded, 23 times in the second half.(7 in the first) An amazing stat, that a Linesman could be spot on 23 times in 45mins.
Littleman,
I was at the Leeside Vrs Willow Park match!!
There were not too many chances in the 1st half. Willow scored a well worked move and Leeside threatened through Set Pieces only.
Leeside hit the Crossbar in the 2nd half @ 1 0.
The Referee gave a penalty to Willow Park that not one of the Willow Players looked for!! Weird Decision.
Apparently an elbow that only the Ref saw!!
After scoring the penalty Leeside had a player sent off for a professional foul. Then 1 player from each side were sent after a tussle.
Willow player received a Headbutt and he was sent off???
Game went very open then for the last 15mins!! Both sides could have scored.
I think the Better team won but just about!!
Leeside are a good side and i wish them luck for the rest of their League / Cups & Munster Cup.
blinks,I dont care anymore theres no talkin to ya.I apoligise to the Pike posters for my remarks last week about Pike,I was totally wrong an out of order.Got drawn into something I should have stayed well out of.But blinks is it me,Springfield,Cork,Pike or just football in general that you have a problem with.If your not happy with something start a thread about it an post to your hearts content.
This is the Fai thread for all things to do with the Fai junior cup.Tactics and how a side performs or dose not perform falls into that spectrum. Can we all please get back to the Fai junior cup an whos left in it before this thread looses all credibility.
Thanks for the match report supersol.I was told the ref did no Leeside no favours alright.Leeside are a good side too an they should give Pike a good ol game alright down in Leesides place. Its a very big pitch an they are very fit so Id say when it is played its going to be end to end stuff.Looking forward to it.
Just to make a quick note. I want to start by saying congrats to killmallock on yere win. But could someone awnser me how come when a kilmallock player went down in the box in the first half got no pelanty but dident get booked either and none of the castleisland players were at the ref to book him, but when a castleisland player went down in the box in the second half the ref dident give him a penalty and was not given him a card till most of the kilmallock players ran at him telling him to book the castleisland player as he was book already so he was sent off.
Bad form on the kilmallock players side and the ref should be ashamed.

willow will have a player missing the quarter final against Clonmel Town so supersol? do you think they will be good enough to beat Town?
So genuinely lads after all the crap talk is done and dusted we are left with 8 good sides. From a Limerick point of view Pike are the strongest but yet Regional are their bogey side. Pike are Fairviews bogey side and Kilmallock have the potential to upset any of them on their day. I believe Pike are rightly favourites but no way should they beat touted as superior to the other Limerick sides and for the other four i'm sure they all quietly fancy their chances. Maybe its the dark horses from outside Munster that could do it, not much has been said of Willow or Shangan so i think this weekend will tell a huge story, i fancy Fairview and Regional in their respective games purely because they are at home, Pikes game could well be decided by the officials coz both sides are big and physical and anything can happen. There will be at least one shock thats for sure
Paddy Power match prices:

Regional 2/5 Draw 10/3 Shangan 4/1
Saints 13/8 bet of the round for me
Dobber , niall byrnes, and Greg moloney will come in so
Anyone take advantage of the 1st scorer odds over the weekend? Apparently Paddy Power did specials on it?
pa mullins be playing unless injured barry+hartnett out ok i know pike got game on thursday so colbert be availible wonder will they put out b players against star maybe they above named players might be gettin game:)
i was at the leeside v willow game myself tipp top and the willow player send off , didnt start the game he came on wiv 25min to go, iv seen clonmel play last season in the semi"s against st peters . clonmel where very good that day and should have won the game . the willow team this yr is the strongest they have ever had and they wont fear anyone imo, i expect the game to be a cracker wiv two good footballibng sides , id have to go wiv a narrow willow win due to home advantage,
First and second round draws for F.A.I. Senior Cup made to-night. Only Junior team involved on first round is Willow Park/Clonmel Town away to Bonagee Utd (Letterkenny) on March 21st. In the second round Fairview Rangers/Kilmallock away to winners Cherry Orchard/Tullamore Town, St.Michaels/Pike Rovers away to Bluebell Utd (Dublin) and Regional/Shangan at home to Belgrove (Dublin). Second round games on May 15th.
Anyone think that Regional might have there name on the cup? Certainly they are dark horses but Paddy Power has em 2/5 to win Sunday.
Town aren't as good as they were last season. they have done very well to get this far but I think Willow will be a bridge to far. Killarney weren't the greatest side and it took us till extra time to win. I would love to be wrong but I think Sunday will be the end of the road for Town- we are a last 8 team at best
St Micheal's Would have to fancy there chances with Hartnett, Barry & Colbert missing and Mullins being a Doubt with Hamstring on Sunday wouldn't they with St Micheal's being the home Team.
Cant believe Hartnett has choosing GAA over who puts the Bread & Butter on the Table at home. But then again that's what it might boil down to with not having loyal Clubmen playing with your club to Win an FAI.. Fair play to him for sticking with hes Parish tho...
County Trophys are more important then winning National Trophy's with a city Soccerl Team
Fair play to regional and fairview for looking after st.michaels i'd say it was much appreciated out there.best of luck to killmallock and shangan
whats all this about Colbert and clubs ringing Saints?? Nothing on TSDL thread about this??
Told them what about Wayne Colbert??
well said blackjack, it one thing lose pub talk and stuff on this but to conspire against a club and make the call to micheals to ring the fai is disgraceful and to a player they hold in high regard. pike will still beat st micheals even more so now.. its funny that was just told that balla have a few of there a team and some of there supporter that are friends with the pike lads going to tipp to support pike and rightly so and i taught balla and pike never got on.looks like the better team lost there as regional are easly lead by the looks of it. best of luck to pike..
That is very bad form and whats the outcome?
It will all be denied now but pike know exactly what happened.he'll be playin tues nite and everyone hopes now he gets a hat-trick and yere battered
