Ah sorry about that. Still a crucial game.
how does the post season work ??? I actually have a chance of reaching it this year:)
Simple playoff format. The divisional winner with the best overall record plays the wild card team in one semi and the two other divisional winners play each other in the other semi final. Both these games are the week after the regular fantasy season ends which is week 15 of the NFL season.
The winners of those face off in the final the next week, week 16 of the NFL season.
The post season is the one part of the game that I think is a bit weak. A lot of the time you end up with teams resting players as they are assured of the playoffs. Happened me last year but I suppose it's hard to know how you can change it unless you shorten the season.
I'd start Cassel this weekend over Romo. Pats and Cassel have improved and they will be out for revenge over the Dolphins after what happened the last time they played.
Lads if anyone is interested in a trade let me know.
I have some good RBs and WRs and I'm looking for a good Dst and TE (not sure there are any of these this year!)
Opps. Trade deadline for the league has passed!
The NFL.com league is one of the better formats for handling the post season problem as they don't play fantasy games in week 17. For the most part, teams are still competing in weeks 15 and 16. Obviously there are some players rested but it's not on the same level as week 17.
Clark didn't do a whole pile - 18pts in it with Brees to play - i reckon there'll only be a point or two in it either way. Brees has had some excellent numbers this season - MVP type stuff - but the Packers defence is a tough prospect - id still expect him to Pass for 250 odd yards and maybe a touchdown or two so it could depend on turnovers.
To be fair i'm a Pats fan - but even the most optimistic Pats fans wouldn't have guessed that he would have thrown for 800 yards in two weeks against the Jets and the Dolphins.
I wonder what odds a Jets v Giants Superbowl is now?
My jinx against Derekcolts/kings continues... Final last year and both games this year! Should still hopefully be in the playoffs.
Good morale boosting win for me yesterday over the Wagons, ended yet another slide that I'd been going through. Playoffs are beyond reach in this league.
As usual my other nfl.com team is faring much better, fourth best record overall. I'm a game outside the playoffs though because the 1st and 3rd best records are in my division. I've a game against the team currently holding the wildcard this week.
Another week where one man will decide my game. Someone tell me Jones Drew is injured or something or else I'm buggered!
How are we looking play offs wise Stu?
i think i made the playoffs ???? foot.ie
I'm away until this evening so will give a better playoffs update tomorrow.
In the Central Foot.ie have made the playoffs.
Nobody in that division can get the wildcard.
In the East Bensons Boozers have made the playoffs.
Nobody in that division can claim the wild card.
In the West Cliffords Clippers lead Gridiron Goofballs by 0.5 of a game. It just remains to be seen who tops the division and who claims the wildcard.
Oi, I'll double his petty bribe to two bags of salt and vinegar tayto's :D
Anyone want Plaxico Buress? Preferably for Randy Moss or Lance moore or TO, but I'm not fussy!!
Playoffs are set...Good luck boys.
Gridiron Goofballs at Cliffords Clippers
Foot.ie at Bensons Boozers
Playoffs are Gridiron Goofballs @ Benson's Boozers and Foot.ie @ Cliffords Clippers.
Lets hope Arizona have an off day this weekend!!!! Good luck to the others anyway!
Anyone know why there's a Flex option now?
What's a flex option?
good week for me so far. Big TO will have to come up with 40 odd points to slow me down. Picking up Pierre Thomas and the Seahawks defence worked a treat for free agents.
Looks like it's an all west division championship game.
Edit: On the flex option...
If your league doesn’t allow you to flex any additional players, simply leave the “Flex” boxes at each position empty. If you are allowed to start one additional player, click on the box next to where it says “Flex” at each position where you have the option of flexing a player from that position. For example, if your league allows you to flex one player from either the RB, WR, or TE positions, click on the “Flex” box under each position. The Lineup Analyzer will then recommend one additional player from these positions to be included in your starting roster.
If you are allowed to flex more than one player, start by putting in the minimum amount of starters at each position that can be flexed and then click on the “Flex” boxes at each position you have the option of flexing a player from.
For example, if you have to start at least 1 RB, 1 WR, and 1 TE, and can flex 4 more players from any of these positions, you would enter “1” for the starters at those positions and check each of those positions “Flex” box. Run the Lineup Analyzer to get the results and whichever position it recommends to flex a player a player from, add 1 to that positions starting number on the Lineup Analyzer page (if it recommended flexing a RB, you go back to the Lineup Analyzer page and then enter “2” for your starting RB’s) and click on all the applicable positions “flex” boxes again. Run the Lineup Analyzer again and it will give you another flex player. Repeat these steps until all your starting positions are filled.
Thanks strangeirish, - the flex option was showing during the week, was probably just a temporary glitch.
Anyway delighted my Goofballs are in the Championship game. Surprised as well considering i was a 40 odd point underdog. Ariziona had an off night plus i made the call of playing Matt Cassell instead of Tony Romo which was the difference between winning and losing. Nice to have a bit of luck which seems to have been with me all year i must admit.
Good luck to Clifford as well next week, and thanks again to A.S for setting this up - highly enjoyable and entertaining.
Nice work Real ale, congrats on getting this far and best of luck to you as well sir.
Looks like both teams are on fire, it's going to come down to the Patriots on the night I suppose. I've Faulk and Welker, you've Cassel if selected feeding the two boys. Brees against the Lions might sway things as well. Manning only got 17 against them this weekend, but hopefully Brees (and Thomas!) will knock up one last 400 yard effort for me!! :D
Thanks as usual to A Stu, what an effort, thanks a million for the season and count me in again for next season if you are going to be so kind again and run it for us.
To all the rest - "IN YOUR FACE LOSERSSSSSS".....:D
;):D And just like that Cassel nails the final nail in my coffin with a 76 yard td. Not that it was in doubt. I went to sleep last night at HT in the Cowboys game - their Dfence had racked up 23 points and 5 sacks. Woke up to see they had collapsed and that bloody Mason fella who had 23 injuries in the first half carried on to pick up a blast of yards and a td!!
Well done RAM, cracking season and good way to end it.
Unless of course Brees explodes in the air, which I can't see happening to be fair.
well you're throwing in the towel far too early there Clifford - long way to go yet.
amazed Cassel is still in the game at 41-0!
92-78 at the moment. you have 3 left, I have 1.
50-50 game to me at this stage!
Back in it all right Real, Brees found some yards..nice one.
 Just seen Gostkowski's score, a ****ing 17 point kicker? Get outta here will ya :D
Game over for sure I reckon after that.
