Confirmed tonight that Pat Boland and Windy Hogan will take charge of Star Rovers next season.
All of last season's squad trained tonight (with the exception of Pa Barry), along with a few new faces.........
One or two players that signed B forms last season will also be going back on A forms this season.......
Thats great news for star abbey... Pat and Windy are two top blokesQuote:

Who were the new faces? Was shane walters there? I take it you'll be staying yourself?
aled harkin goin to mungret ??any truth?have they started traing yet??
Lets hope graham isnt between the sticks, no offence graham
That would be a great boost for star if Pa signed.
Any news on that new club house that was being talked about abbey?
I heard the same rumour about Clarkey............nice guy, good player but haven't seen him for a while...and he wasn't training last night with us, so I'm not sure yet.
Ger Collopy says he is giving a good go this season with Star (and trained last night) and Robbie Carey has also given his word that he will sign with Star (attended training last night), so it looks like they'll fight it out for the No.1 Jersey, but Collopy will have his work cut out.........
Graham can concentrate on fighting for his place outfield for a change this season (if he signs), and that can only help him.
Pa wont be signing lads........
New lights going in over the next 2/3 weeks for training down in lee estate, and from what I heard at last weeks meeting, there will be a new astro surface available in lee estate for parish teams to use, by end of February.
Didnt hear anything on the clubhouse yet.........
Never mind them Carey.... there all just jealous cos your so multi-talented... :) its a curse i suffer with myself... :D
thing s'ville could struggle this year, few players on d move is the rumour
i think strugle is a strong word there. i think sumerville will hold there own even if they loose a few. seem to have a good core of a team there.
Summerville
Star
Balla B
Mungret
Hill Celtic
Cappamore
Shannon Town
Geraldines
Croom
Charleville
Prospect
Just putting in my view on it...It could be totally bias but i have to put my own team at the top :D
Croom could be stronger than i predict but i am basing them on when we played them 2 years ago!
Prospect could also finish higher than predicted but they are only predictions at the moment..When players have signed forms and a few games in i may change..We wil have to see..Good luck to all teams and management!! :o:ball:
any of the teams have friendlies yet?
To be brutally honest mulla i don't know..We have a new manager installed(former B team manager) and i think there was a players meeting today to see what is planned.I will wait until nearer august before i go back(if i go back)as it was a long season last year. From what i gather there is still much the same team there..Rumours of cyril maher and his brother leaving but i don't believe any of them....Gorey has retired(thats what he says anyway)..Also rumours of our keeper going to fairview b!We wil see how things pan out over the coming weeks as so many things change in the run up to the start of the league..You looking for a friendly mulla or razbar...pm me!
heard over the weekend from a prospect player that hill celtic offering holidays to spain to every player who signs and plays for season skinor is tapping up all prospect players from last year as hill celtic have lost whole team
