Saw that on MOTD2 - has the UK law changed, because it used to be illegal to consume alcohol in view of the pitch.

Huge bust up regarding transfer targets yesterday by all accounts. Keegan normally threatens to walk when he's not getting his way so I'd say Ashley took him up on the offer, sad but what can you do. Expect Wise to take over as interim manager to see how they he can do while they pretend to look for a manager. If Wise makes a good job of it they'll give it to him, otherwise they'll hire someone else, keep Wise in his current position and say he was only the interim manager anyway
Keegan not sacked according to SSN. Statement on club website to that effect.
Just a normal day on Tyneside really.
Well i dont know but my bet on Alan Curbs been the first manager to go looks dodgy at the moment:eek:
do SSN ever get it right?
It looks like Ashley won't pay off Keegan and so issues a statement saying Keegan is not sacked.
You're in the money Benno Celt :D

Big Sam did very nicely out of his stay at Newcastle. Also, it kinda shows that Ashley ahs been bothered with the club if he's been pumping in about £110m. Or he's just stupid.
"It's a massive club."
As a West Ham and UCD fan I have experienced relegation more than once and it is not pretty.
Last season UCD deserved to go and the most recent flirtation with relegation West Ham had, we stayed up a la Tevez but probably didn't deserve it.
Newcastle deserve this and it would have been a tragedy if they have stayed up. I can empathise with the fans pain but it is somewhat reassuring and validating that a club that has been so badly managed, awful recruitment, consistently bad player management, bad signings, bad sales, bad treatment of managers, bad and bizarre hiring of managers, extremely poor performances on the pitch, consistently bad performances by players who simply didn't fancy it.
Michael Owen and Mark Viduka and Joey Barton will walk away from this but they are culpable.
Jokers. Charlatans. And the only side who deserve more to be in the championship next year is Sheffield United
Newcastle got exactly what they deserved today, they've been extremely bad all season. Massive clearout needed, Collocini, Edgar, Owen, Viduka, Barton to name a few of the wasters in their squad
David Blaine is apparently gutted at the minute. He has discovered that his 44 day record of doing f**k all in a box has been smashed by Michael Owen
newcastle are so bad they relegated themselfs:D
I thought Newcastle would be fired up for it more yesterday! I thought they would be saying to themselves let's do it for Joey Barton.
Could not happen to a nicer team!
wonder will they survive. some players on massive wages. is there any clauses for reduced wages if relegated.
yesterday's performance was one of the worst I have ever seen from a PL team. How enrique, guthrie and edgar are professional footballers is beyond me
Newcastle deserved to go down, absolutely crap all season long. It'll be a while before we see them in the Premier League
Fantastic article by Matthew Syed on the state of Newcastle:

Go and read.
He did save us from relegation in the old division 2. I don't think anyone ever said he was a great manager. A great motivator, yes.
EDIT: Just realised you were referring to Shearer there. The club was f*cked, and Shearer was appointed in an act of desperation. There was little risk about it.
Newcastle have put the club up for sale for £100million.
