Apparently Max Bygraves is on the selection commitee and he was the one who suggested you need hands :D
As long as its not Michael Mc Mullan. Knob head on Today FM
idiots both.
Anyway can we cut out the Haan related puns , side splittingly hilarious and all that they were , and concentrate on the pro's and cons of his candidature.
He got a team to the Eufa cup final (like MON). He got a team to the European cup semi-final (like O'Leary). Was a top player. Has managed in different countries so knows the types of players and systems we will be playing against.
The Venables lackey is back :) Have you no shame?
Whatever you do Noely, don´t put a curse on Haan by sticking a tenner on him at 66/1.
I asked a few Dutch mates about him and basically they would rate him higher than Hodgson. Apparantly he is a perfectionist with tactics, technique and motivation and has a sense of humour. Manager date line CV :)
That was funny, The only player he knew was Robbie, he siad he would build the hole team around him. God Help Us if he gets it
Arie Haan being interviewed on Off The Ball: http://media.putfile.com/Arie-Haan-I...n-Off-The-Ball
Sound is a but choppy in places, my internet connection is inconsistent lately
build a team around the only player he knows
It played okay Tets, thanks a lot.
He hasn´t seen us since 2002 so who has? unless they were paid to do so.
Said something about holding onto the old players too long then you have a problem with the new players.
He wouldn´t be afraid to pull the plug.
I´d say he would have to do a good interview in order to be taken seriously
I doubt Rehhagel knew too many Greek players when he took over Greece. And as Ken Early said. First training seesion don't care what your name is. Show me what you can do.
It's only one interview and a bit of net searching, but I like the vibe off this guy.
Sadly, I fear the next we hear from him will be in a Newstalk "where did they go wrong?" vox-pop interview after Venables mucks up his first game in charge of Ireland (a hastily arranged friendly against a Singapore XI, played in Liechtenstein for tax purposes - 3-0 to Singapore), having skipped a weeks training to finish shooting "Celebrity place in the sun" for Sky Living 3 +1.
If you dont know the answer of thta rebel you do dont much about football.First thing is that Sanchez built the team around Healy. He made sure he got a big man in, he did not always pick the best player to partner Healy but the best man for Healy to score. He also made sure he got players who would get plenty of crosses in and he played pretty direct football. Healy then used his skill to read the knock downs and bits and pieces and has done well because he is a top finisher.
Northern Ireland had a simple game plan pretty much like we did under Charlton. Ireland under Staunton were a shambles, where all the players had no gameplan and had to make it up on the spot.
Keane had been on fire this season for spurs.
Got a classy goal against wales too.
You cant judge anyone from their performances under Stan.
Firstly Neil I know plenty about football as I have played it to a high level for must of my life, the main reason the North did well in the qualifying campaign is because of heart and pride, on paper our team is far better then them. You cant blame everything on Stan, the team also has to take a lot of it, we cant just put it down to its all Kerr’s fault or its all Stan’s fault, I know Stan did not have a clue but Robbie is the Captain on this Country and does not play like it, Does He? even under Kerr he was rubbish, I know the guy has the talent and it kills me when he plays so poor for us, yet is banging them in for spurs, And Healy tries hes guts out for the North the amount of goals he has made out of nothing, crackers from outside the box.
first of all. its the managers job to get the best out of the players..so in that regard you can blame stan and kerr...our downfall in the euro qualifiers was down to tactical naivity and incompetence by stan, the players heart cannot be questioned in most of the games, but their apparent cluelessness and the lack of a definite gameplan can, which again stems from the manager...As for Robbie, he is not a captain, and he has enough pressure on him to score goals without being given the captains armband
I agree Keane has not been as good as he is at Spurs for Ireland for a while now but it is nothing to do with him not trying. Keane in many ways trys too hard. Tony Cascarino played football at the highest level and knew nothing about football.
Arigo Sachi and Mouinhio and Brian Kerr played football at a very low level and they know way more than Cascarino, and Barry Venison.
Neil thanks for that wisdom, Robbie has been ****e for Ireland because he has been trying too hard. You must be a football expert
he scored a goal in the last game
he generally plays well for ireland but has missed some chances in a few games under stan.
he misses chances for spurs too its just theyre not the only chance in the match usually and arent put under the same spotlight
He is the best Player we have, lets be honest about it, he had a few bad games under stan, but who didnt?
richard dunne
and perhaps stan's significant other
Arie Haan thinks Robbie is a thing of beauty :)
I´d regard it as a major issue for the manager to address, why our beautiful goalscorer is not scoring goals for his country when he is doing well for his club.
The question is could Arie transfer his philosophy to a rejuvinated Irish team, retaining possesion, controlling a game and creating goalscoring chances from a position of control.
his agent seems to be overdoing it a little, following the money perhaps
http://www.prnewswire.com/cgi-bin/st...4713461&EDATE=
Who did he win FIVE European Cups with ?
THREE with Ajax, who else ?
Is he lying on his CV like we all do ?
The agent is doing his homework, looks like he has been checking out the level of the Venables discontent factor on here because that is not so evident in the newspapers.
Ah he is referring to the two CWC's he won with Anderlecht.
Bit cheeky that, sure doesnt everyone have one of those.
deffo would like haan..shake up the team abit..
