Was at the Bunratty Bridge celtic game. Tough uncomprimising game, no quarter asked or given, Bunratty 3-0 down despite playing all the football, Bunratty owned the second half and deservedly claimed a point.Quote:

it seems very easy that some people on this site are very quick to throw untrue accusations at both lifford and Michael Lydon.
Lifford are an ambitious club and want better things both for its members and for clare soccer. at the moment there is a period of transition in the management of the u-21's so the setup is not as good as last year.
our club has requested at most 3 matches off in the last 5 years.
i'm not sure where all the agro is coming from on this issue..... but seriously some guys on this thread would want to take a look at themselves and think before they post
fair play to lifford for entering a 21's team..it's good to see a clare team at that level..Quote:

No i dont think it's fair . I think it would have been ideal if newtown were given the sunday they wanted off and newmarket played avenue.
but i don't make these choices. on 1 hand i commend the clare league for been flexible with lifford and on the other i pull my hair out because they don't use common sense for the newtown situation

smellyfeet .. any truth to rumour of a few newtown lads unhappy already after 1 game been training hard and were not even started on first 11 even though newtown were missing 8-9 regulars .. and a few angry words exchanged by manager & senior committe member in the lodge sunday night over team picked on sunday... will add only heard this 3rd hand today in work... so it could be the usuall pub rumours.. : !! was in the lodge myself and seen both individuals and everything seemed ok .. :confused:Quote:

ya the website is fairly decent alrite but for some strange reason in some places it updates a lot quicker than other places...eg when im at home the premier and youths tables and top scorers update an hour or so after each day of games but if i go on the site at work even a few days later it still wouldnt have updated and the top scorer tables are just blank. :confused:

From a conversation I had last night , something struck me about the way football is in Clare. Loyalty and peoples perception of loyalty. Now before anyone jumps on that statement I am only expressing a view that I have at things as they are now. I was talking to a manager of a Clare league side who named his team to me that played during the week and this is my point the players that he named had and probably will never have any loyalty to the club that they are "representing". Is it a case where a club name can now be used by a bunch of lads that want a kick about without any interest in the club itself.
It is understandable that players will move from club to club but when a club is moved from club to club it makes me wonder.
Gone it seems are the days when a player would take pride in wearing the jersey of the first team in his club. Now it seems that any ** that says he will turn up on a Sunday can play for that club.
