I missed the game, was it any good ?
What did you think of this years Bruff team ?

terrible start to the game, dont think bruff started with their starting keeper because we scored two in first five minutes, both could've been blamed on the keeper, bruff brought on another keeper and came back and scored a cracker even though the scorer should've been closed down earlier, after that not a lot happened, nothing close to scoring from either team, bruff aren't as strong as last year but they're still not a bad team...really missing their striker from last year
Any other results from the weekend. How did Hill celtic get on ....
we were beaten three one by herbertsown...we were awful in the first half and we lost gerry kelly to a dislocated finger after about two minutes and we never really recovered...although second half we improved and looked at little more lively...im not going to make excuse's, herberstown were better than us but we were missing three starters, so we are not too upset about it.
Anyone know the story with the LDMC webiste and the results, fixtures etc?
In the paper it said Cappamore and Dines match was abandoned. was away the weekend what happened?
I heard the Cappamore sideline went over the top with abuse and treaths, so ref in question abbandoned the game and went, and correctly so.
I think the ldmc should deduct points from teams such as these, and it would surely see an improvement on the abuse the refs receive.
What "THREATS" were they? Were you at the game? What stage was it at when he "ABANDONED" it? Spelling, Spelling, Spelling!! Say it was the pressure of relegation that sent them over the edge.
As Cappamore are a country club you can be sure they will be heavily punished. Pretty sure the Dines lads wouldn't of opened their mouths during that game. The Dines always have a quiet line!
In 15 years of playing Junior football never experienced much abuse outside the roundabouts of Limerick. Alot of rising and heckling "Here come the townies" or "here are the boys who ate the chips" "you cant send me off its my field!!" but never anything malicous. All true quotes!!

Kiely was down to ref it on the website
hows 1a going this year who's doing what in the league?
Kilmallock to win it at a canter from what I've seen so far. Balla and Hill Celtic to challenge. Everybody else to slug it out for the two relegation spots.
it must be a very poor league if thats the case
Ger or Mike?
If it was Mike, it must have been bad as he is one of the most experenced refs in town. Will see him on Thursday and find out.
Ger is another experenced referee and I doubt it was trivial if it was him!
Then again Kiely in the paper does not mean Kiely on Sunday:eek:
Lads
Just a quick question.
If Balla "B" finish in the top two promotion places this year, what happens?
Are they allowed into the Prem (with Balla "A" there already) or does the 3rd placed team replace them going up?
Happened a few years back........They stay in 1A
Cant say that I do, I knew that ruling was there before but thought it had changed.
Why then do you have other clubs in the lower leagues playing with two teams in the same Division (I think Corbally B & C did it last year).
Doesn't make sense really for Balla "B", they must think to themselves, What's the point in playing league games if you cant win promotion?
And what would happen IF (I know its a big IF) Balla "A" got relegated to Div 1A and Balla "B" finished mid table in Div 1A the same season???
A scenario could be that Balla "A" play Balla "B" last day of the season and need 3 points to win the title,a bit of match fixing could take place so that Balla "A" take the points easy...
Note:Case scenario,not suggesting anything so don't flame...
Maybe they just want the league title
I'd imagine that its a case of simply a group of lads wanting to have a kick about on a Sunday morning and a few pints afterwards, basically an excuse for a day off as such..and this is reinforced even more since its a "b" team.
balla b wont win the league they have a good start every season and fade.i rememember afew years ago they had 28 players signed and won there first 4 games, they just avoided relegation the same season
This exact thing happened to Geraldines a good few years back. The B's won 1A and the A's got relegated from the prem. So the teams should have switched places. But the club left both teams in the divisions that they were always in. Felt the A team that got relegated would have a better chance then the B team.
Suppose its up to the club at the end of the day.
