and you could say that there's far more potential with the Wolves Irish youngsters than there is at Sunderland. I wouldn't be surprised if Keogh, Potter, Elliott and Gleeson establish themselves as Premiership players at some stage in the future...

Any word on Douglas? There is every chance that Leeds won't even be in the league next season, he'd want to be making tracks. I think he had an operation in June which doesn't help.
played in their last 2 warm up games against Berlin and Shelbourne:

I came across this on Paddy Power:
Harry Potter Specials
Harry Redknapp to sign Darren Potter before the start of the 07/08 season 25 - 1
:D
The EL hardliners will have a fit drawing attention to this here but since when did I ever care?
Here's the story.
Fulham close in on O’Donovan
July 20, 2007
Barclays Premier League side Fulham are closing in on the signature of Cork City star Roy O’Donovan and the deal may well be completed as early as the weekend.
The Cottagers and League One side Southend United made firm offers for the Republic of Ireland under-21 and ‘B’ international this week.
Nottingham Forest, Watford and Hull City are also said to be interested but Fulham look certain to win the race.
Lawrie Sanchez is reported to have offered €300,000 plus add-ons for the 21-year-old, in a deal which could see Cork net approximately €450,000 as well as a significant proportion of any future transfer fee.
Cork are holding out for a bigger initial fee but it is believed that the respective parties are not far off agreement on a deal which would make O’Donovan the most expensive League of Ireland player of all time.
If I were Keano, and I'm not..... after missing out on Bobo Balde and Paul McShane, why not go for Darren O'Dea? I heard Sunderland were interested...(trying a palacio)
ya denilson sounds like a plan but the only thing is odea isn't has proven as mcshane, plus keane would know about mcshane from his days at united.
plus keane would know about o'dea from his days at celtic.
billsthoughts we were just discussing that last night, keane has paid a lot for unproven and average players. we came to the conclusion that , coming out saying you have 25 mil to spend will make other clubs take note and increase the price tag on a player....
be interesting to see how Dion " Sunderland Cheerleader " Fanning spins this in his next column...yeah agree with above. doesnt seem the wisest move in hindsight telling the world you have a rake a cash to spend. its not like he is even buying youth or proven players , its just pure averagness he has brought in....loads of squad players
Keane did inquire about him last year but was told no dice by GS.
I've read on another site that our controversial college kid international Joseph Lapira is on trial with none other than Rangers FC of Scotland.
Pick the bones outa that.
The bold Joe all kitted out in his gear.
Quote:
Notre Dame attack wizard Joe Lapira arrived at Murray Park Monday for a trial of unknown length with Scottish giants Rangers, ASD has learned. The Louisiana native holds an Irish passport, which would smooth any potential move. Full report to follow...
hmmm what do they mean by "smooth" here......
he looks quite heavy in that picture above...heavy meaning "big"
'Smooth any potential move'...Quote:

Christ. You'd know well it was a yank writing this article.
hmmmm, proves there might be something to Lapira after all.
Let him play for Rangers, we need all the players we can playing at a high level, Rangers are in Europe again this season, and are always there or thereabouts for every cup and title in Scotland.
Alan Maybury was reportedly being tracked by Rangers for a time, and I didn't care then it was Rangers, and I don't care now.
Anybody with Irelands best interests wouldnt give 2 fceks either.Quote:

i hope he signs for rangers and does well for them, then plays for ireland in a home game.
Surely the same ignorants who boo every other rangers player would do similarly for Lapira, then the FAI might finally do something about it.
Remember Peter Madsen of Brondby came on for Denmark at lansdowne a few years ago but the announcer called him Peter Lovenkrands, poor ******* was booed for a half hour solid without a clue why.
How about at ibrox if (thats a big if) he ever plays.
I'm sure he'll get a great reception there.
I reserve the right to boo any player I want at any match.... It's the ignorant who take the higher moral stance and place booing in the same bracket as sectarianism, racism and every other -ism that feeds their superiorty complex.
Back to the topic at hand. More power to Lapira.. I hope it works out for him!!
There's a Buzz around readytogo.net that McShane to Sunderland is back on... I don't generally pay too much attention to the roumers on that site but this one seems to have some credibillity!!
My head says 'good luck' to Lapira, and fair play for getting a chance at a big club who play in Europe every year.
My heart says that, having seen him pose on Sky Sports in the Rangers kit, I never want to see him play for Ireland again. That might sound tribal, and un-PC, but I don't care. I'm just glad that we have Keane, Doyle, Long, Stokes, Murphy, Keogh and Elliott ahead of him in the pecking order (and if O'Donovan goes to Fulham, he'll be in contention, whether rightly or not), and that we don't need him.
Decent season in the championship and he will be talking about a call up again!

Joe O'Cearuill was in the Luton team last night against Dagenham, and is expected to sign in the next few days: http://www.lutontown.premiumtv.co.uk...079020,00.html
Incidentally, the squad page has him down as Joel Cearuill: http://www.lutontown.premiumtv.co.uk...078487,00.html
Been rumoured that he is training with QPR. We have just sold our best player Lee Cook to Fulham who is a left winger so this rumour might well be accurate although it is the silly season. On the books at Chelsea and we have been getting linked with a number of loan signings from Chelsea.

I noticed as well that Lewis Price has been sold, surely that means Shane Supple is their no1 choice for keeper now?
They signed Neil Alexander from Cardiff about a month ago, who couldn't oust David Forde so I'd be confident he won't oust Supple, who was handed the No. 1 jersey.Quote:
