From what i know Lester, James and Armstrong will be sharing a place together.
Confirmed here - http://www.rte.ie/sport/2007/0103/galway.html?rss
Armstrong looked pretty decent in his first few months with us but then did his knee ligaments and only came back recently. he was very unfit and looked reluctant to put in the effort in training/u21s games to get his fitness back. Maybe with a full preseason behind him he could be good again.
has potential to be a good strong target man
I thought he was alot older than that
Hopefully your optimism is correct Danny
We have O'Flynn and Murphy as it is anyway..
who is the other striker TC is talkin about on the website??
Dont forget Barry has played and scored at this level before johnny and i wouldnt give up on Conor Gethins who I know wants to come back its just down to his fee.
Fair enough Tommy about Barry - though he was poor pretty much every time I saw him last season.
he definitely has potential, great eye for goal when he is on song - he was in and out of the team and had a few lay offs with injury - so hopefully he can come on from last season and do a job if its from the bench even
I heard yesterday that we have signed an Australian goalkeeper who was playing in Wales, Bangor Town I think. Can anybody give anymore information if they have heard this.
I know hes a galwegian and all, but I seen a former player in Keiran Foley driving in the opposite direction of myself today on the dyke road, any chance that he could be the centre back that tony is talking about?
Whats the chances of having 2 players with the same name starting next season?
To me Keiran was an up and down player, and will be best remembered for scoring a hat trick against bohs in dalymount, sweet :)

Here's the man.
Kieran is home for another centre halves wedding Colin Hawkins after getting married himself in italy last week.
The missus got an invite to the afters but we couldnt go as we are all sick at the mo. I could have kidnapped a few if I got out there !!! :D
On another note, who is that pictured on our website www.galwayunitedfc.ie , James or Armstrong?
that's Armstrong
Kieran Foley last played in the Premier Division in 2005-06 with a Shamrock Rovers that was relegated. He failed to impress their supporters.
Colin Hawkins may well be leaving Shelbourne if the Dublin club decide to go part-time. The likes of Bohs, Pats and Drogs will have first call.
what did foley do last season - apart from obviously an engagement :D
it seems obvious but in all those pics on the official site they never mention who they are!!
im not as familiar with other league of ireland teams players in the premier
i want to know who im going to be bollicking/praising ha ha ha
I dont think Kieran Foley is going to leave a good job in the carribean to play with Galway United and Colin Hawkins and Bobby Ryan are reported to be on their way to Dunfermline once Shels finally implode.
Mick O'Donnell has been released and Derek O'Briens status has not yet been clarified for 2007, according to todays City Tribune.
Conor Gethins will be remaining at Finn Harps for the moment.
Was told last week alright that Derek was holding off signing due to an issue with wages, didnt think it was true though?
No surprises with Mick, but the best of luck to him.
Heard GUFC are lining up a bid...

David Beckham will leave Real Madrid in the summer, according to the club's sporting director Predrag Mijatovic.
Mijatovic told Sky Italia television that Real would not be renewing the player's contract.
The club had earlier indicated that it wanted to resolve the long-running Beckham contract issue one way or the other by the end of next week, and further talks were expected.
Beckham joined Real in July 2003 from Manchester United but he has failed to land a trophy at the Bernabeu.
Clubs from across Europe and the United States are believed to be monitoring Beckham's situation and may now make their move.
Beckham's representatives have been free to speak to other clubs from January 1.
Am ya  have you been taking your medication?
Anyway back on planet earth, Tony Cousins was saying about bringing in some more players. Does anyone know if he plans on having his full squad before the restart of training (the 22nd of Jan) or will he be adding a few players here and there until the end of the transfer window?
You are full time and are only starting training on the 22nd?!
some players are already doing there own training regimes, but the manager and co. are busy doing business (employing more players) so training will start when TC is ready, im sure. Its not as if the season is starting any time soon!!!
for the last number of years players have been given their own training regimes before the squad gets back together. We are about a fortnight later than last year but the team will be training twice daily plus going on a weeks training camp in spain.they will be playing upto 7 preseason games so they should be flying come march 9th,
I see Mark Leech has "retired" even though he's only about 22. I wonder if Tony could convince him to join United - he looked a very promising talent at Drogheda and then Bohs when he went on loan there.
was mentioned before when we signed Connor Gethins so I wouldnt be surprised. Whats his temperament like .
It would be great if Tony went for him because I think from what i watched off him last year he would be a good signing, he definately scores goals.:D why is he "retired"???
is there still a chance that we might sign conor gethins? he was one of our better performers last yewar
vinny Flaherty has gone over to Ipswich yesterday for a trial. hes told me GUFC were in touch also
Is he really good enough for Ipswich? I only seen him 3 or 4 times and he was excellent in them all, but I still think if he wants to develope better he should give GUFC a shot first before heading across to play in England (theres no way he'll be playing first team for years), do a kevin Doyle you could say, but thats my opinion.
His head is so far up his arse you'd need surgery to remove it.
sounds like most good footballers so Conor !!!!
He's not good enough for LOI.
Ciano in a few years...possibly.
The standard in this league is much higher than the likes of Vinny realise. He's also to fond of the sauce.Any time i'm doing precautionary sweeps of the nightclubs he's there.
