Am I right your saying Shels are playing on an 800 seater stadium from the beginning of next season ?
wher eon earth did you hear that or are you doing what others do and add meat/lies to the bones of rumours.
I don't have any details other than to say that Santry has about 800 covered seats.Quote:

While obviously internet talk is cheap and not representative it still beggars believe that your fanbase is ostensibly taking all this lying down.
I can confidently say that in your position we would at the very least ask the questions RTID outlined above re. Tolka, money etc. Failing any convincing answers we'd have taken action. It's your club, not his. Just like Rovers is ours and not Maguire or Kilcoyne's.

You hear one thing and assume worst case senario every time.
just wait for news and then tell us all what you think. all else guess every possible senario so as you can claim you were right all along!
Wasnt so long ago Ollie was going to run off with the money and leave us with nothing. Do you not think we should be happy that he didnt (so far!!! :p )
As for your comment about not asking questions I cant answer for every shels fan out there??? who am I or you to say they have not asked questions....
240 posts on foot wont solve a feckin thing
So when you asked about next season you added that part in yourself ?Quote:

You like making stuff up ??
If it turns out your right you'll be delighted but would you not wait for some more facts?
I made nothing up. I asked you an honest question and you gave me an honest answer.Quote:

Eh, the Santry thing comes directly from Ollie's official mouthpiece and from the man himself on Newstalk. Surely that alone would have you up in arms? No? Oh well.Quote:

but rather than acknoweldge these facts and ask how and why this situation got to this extreme point, you are blanket denying there is a problem and trying to score points.
are there any sensible shels posters that actually know whats happeneing rather than higgins making a collective fool put of you

Who did that ???
I told you already everything was not ok. I told you I wouldnt run a club like that giving half a chance.
I also told you that some of what is posted is lies....
Higgins, with all due respect, you cannot expect people to only talk about things that have been confirmed officially by Shels or Ollie. No one has actually officially confirmed the wages thing nor has it been reported in the press (to the best of my knowledge) and we know that at least some degree of it is true. Shelbourne fans on here seem only to be in the mood of denial and ambiguous statements. If your club and fans aren't going to be forthcoming with information then why should people not be allowed to bring information to the board. It's your fault you don't seem to be countering any of it or not coming forward with info.Quote:

I can if you want but Ive no knowledge to base it on so it would be foolish. I could say I heard from a guy who is close mates to a an ex EL player and as we all know the EL is a small place! Would that be enough for me to get on your side.
As for coming out with information myself ! I dont work for Shels and as I said I dont know the exact story so couldnt and wouldnt post it here even if I did.
for example? the rumour mill in relation to shels over the past few weeks has been remarkably accurate.Quote:

Higgins what do you think of Shels moving into a 800 seater stadium? Do you think they should be aiming higher and move to a stadium with more seating capacity?
If you know as little as you say you do though then it doesn't explain why you're quick to deny a lot of things. If you're similarly in the lurch then you can't confirm or deny rumours with any certainty.Quote:

It's fair enough if you know something, I know very little myself, but you can't quash these rumours either if you know nothing, can you?Quote:

Well there's the thing. It's fair enough and it's your prerogative and we all know you wouldn't tell us if you knew, so you're absence of info doesn't tell us how much you really know but as I say, for a man who knows nothing you're quick to deny and in your own words point out "lies".Quote:

Well I think location wise it couldnt be much better but of course I would love to have more space around and own the stadium ourselves.Quote:

The FAI want groundsharing and I wouldnt like to be stuck in Dalymount the home of Bohs, same as being stuck out in Richmond the home of Pats. I wouldnt like to go to Tallaght either!
When I hear Santry I would be very happy to move there. Even with its 800 seats at present. The land is big enough to hold a decent sized stadium without a running track.
Depending on the deal worked out from the sale of Tolka we could go there with cash in the pocket and a sharing scheme would allow us gain further funding from the FAI (if they stay true to their word).
Id take a move to Santry in the morning!!!
there you go again rainman.Quote:

But do you see it as lack of ambition moving into a stadium that only holds 800 seats?
I've heard Santry been mentioned but it only seems to be fans from other clubs saying that we are moving there next season AND with the stadium in its current state. Where has this story come from? As far as I know we haven't been kicked out of Tolka yet
ah great,Quote:

If all it was to ever hold was 800 seats then yes of course I think it lacks ambition but as TheOwl says it was never stated the ground would remain untouched.Quote:

Our own new stadium would be ideal but a new santry would beat Tallaght, Dalymount or Richmond for me.
Thats IF it is Santry lads
Problem with that is that once the news comes out, it's too late to do anything about it. If you want to make a change for the better in your culb, you have to pre-empt the news. I would imagine topics are posted about on the internet as often as they are spoken about at games, for example - therefore, to me, a lack of discussion on an MB is indicative of a lack of discussion entirely. Without discussion, a clearer picture can't be gotten, groupings won't be made and, ultimately, nothing will happen. I would imagine the 400 Club didn't magically happen - it resulted from Shamrock Rovers fans talking about their club's situation and ultimately deciding to do something about it. That's why they were saved when the sh!t hit the fan - they were in a postiion to do something about it. That's the major issue here. Shels fans in the same situation will just go "Oh well, it's happened, this is what I think."Quote:

That's a Supporters' Club, higgins. Any club can have one of those. Does it purport just to give Shels money or are they interested in finding out what's going on and ultimately taking control if Ollie finally bites off more than he can chew?
We already have a supporters' club this seems to be different and seen as one of their listed aims is to acquire shares in the club, I think it is fair to say they are interested in "finding out what is going on"Quote:

It doesn't alter my point, however, which is that higgins' attitude of "Let's wait and see what happens" is suicidal.
Supporters Club :eek:Quote:

We have a deal in place for 21% of the shares.

We have a deal in place for 2 places on the Board of Management
and NO the money is belonged to SSDG and the members, its different to Shelbourne FC. Not one cent has changed hands yet and it wont until we have proper structures in place and all is transparent.
We are not aiming to take control but if it all went pear shaped its a good basis to carry Shelbourne on considering we would be already looking after various functions but we're not aiming for control, its important to stress that.
What Ollie does his his business, this SSDG will be around whoever is in place but hopefully Ollie is there for a while longer.
Its not a 2nd Supporters Club!Quote:

The new group is close to Shels???
Not sure what you mean there?... Its not Shels but we are all working for the benefit of Shels so if thats close then yes we are close. As far as announcing it on the official site goes, eeeeeeeeeh thats where a lot of Shelbourne fans visit  Its a good medium to get the word out about the group.
We have had about two months of Ad Hoc committee. Then a Open Meeting for all fans where we elected an Interim Committee and are now working towards our first AGM in Spetember. Care to join ??? :D
As for my lets wait and see what happens
Im part of this new grouping and we have had meetings with Shelbourne over the past few weeks so Im not waiting to see whats happening!!!
You all just assume I am but that perfectly fine with me
