Just booked for one of my mates from Dublin to Stuttgart via London for €155. Gobsheen!
Got a hotel for dirt cheap too!
Booked with www.hlx.com. Not particularily cheap but they are direct flights to Stuttgart.
Return direct from Dublin to Stuttgart
Out Fri lunchtime back Sunday lunchtime
Cost €258
This compares with Ryanair to Baden Baden ("near Stuttgart") for the same price.
Aer Lingus are over €300 and that is return to Frankfurt or Munich
I am happy with my days work, Got 4 days in Stuttgart in and out of Stuttgart for €100 including taxes. Happy days.
Is that a hotel in Stuttgart? If so where abouts?Quote:

I booked a double room in the Bavaria Hotel Munchner for 3 nights for €170 for the two of us. Used some online reservation securebookings.net.
I'm sceptical none the less.
Yeah I just walked past Ray Treacy there at lunch time. He is still saying nothing has been confirmed even though its on the German website. I must say I am delighted with my afternoons work. Fair play to letting us know about the game in Stuttgart.
Cheers

IVe seen http://www.cheaphotels.co.uk the achat seems very good price wise.
Got Dublin-Heathrow on Friday night with Aer Lingus and then London-Stuttgart on Saturday morning with Lufthansa...good night's sleep to be had in Heathrow terminal I'd say! Saved E20 on the return by delaying the flight back from London by an hour, though I'll probably spend that in the terminal in that hour! Just under E300 all told.
Neil McD who'd you book with? I thought I had done fairly well with Ryanair & German Wings via Stansted at €133 going Thursday back Sunday.
are any travel companies advertising any package deals to germany yet?
I booked with a combo of Ryan Air and German Wings going out the wed heading back the sunday.
Don't do a package. You're sure to be screwed over.
Any ideas where the u-21 game is as well?
Yeah packages will be about 600 or 700 quid when I have just booked my flights for 100 and tickets will be about 30 and hotel will be about 140 for 4 nights which works out at €270 so dont book packages.
Good question. There's a new format, so if there's a game, it'll be just a friendly. Does anyone know if this will be the case or if the days of U-21 games before the main thing are over?Quote:

I can't believe they chose Stuttgart. It's got nostalgic value for Irish fans, but that's about it. There are a half dozen bigger stadiums. Plus, it's not a real football stadium anyway with it's God damn running track! Dortmund or Munich would have been a dream come true.
I'm still going though.:D
Meant to be a great city for heading out in though. Plus it was probably Stuttgarts turn for a game. My brother lived there for a while and said it has a great social life and the Beer is top notch in Southern Germany too and only about €2 a pint. Bring it on.
I imagine that Stuttgart isn't getting as many big games in the World Cup so this is partly to make up for it.Quote:

It has a capacity of 53,200 and it has 4 group games and a 2nd round game and 3rd and 4th playoff.
Where are you flying to Neil, and with which airline?Quote:

I'm not comfortable booking accomodation or match tickets over the net. Got fcuked over by Euroteam for BalseMk1 and then for my stag I had booked a hotel for 1 lads and when we got there was told our reservation had been cancelled.Quote:

Neil, the train journey is about 1.5 hrs and will probably cost around 70 euro return. I've lived in Stuttgart and done this journey.Quote:

Just settling back down after a mad few hours organising flights and hotels for lads with no googleability:D
Just thinkin of the savings to be made from having a pc at hand when the venue is announced. Costing us €258 for Fri &Sun flights and two nights in hotel as opposed to paying some travel agent 6-700 for a 3day trip.
Neil you seem to have done the best of all!Are you staying in Stuttgart?
Sorting an apartment out at the moment yeah gong to stay in Stuttgart for 4 nights.
That's good. Train prices have obviously come down in Germany. Still, I'm happy to be travelling Dublin-Stuttgart-Dublin direct with Hapag for 256 euro.Quote:

Exactly Neil. Each to their own. I like the ar$e -ways round way of travelling. If this goes well I might try and even more extravagent way of getting to Bratislava. Fly to Belgrade and then sail up the Danube to Slovakia.
going out from LHR on the friday back sunday for £130.00 with Lufthansa.
Next step is the tickets!!
