Harsh decision or not, the penalty is down to septic defending by a player who's so composed for Brentford, but often looks like Bambi on ice for Ireland..

But, the ball should never have been in the box.. Manning won a tackle at the edge, ran forward, and passed it to an Armenian midfielder who with one pass left Manning and Azaz out of the game... then Collins ****ed up

But overall.. Josh Cullen does nothing.. nothing in the middle.. he's no presence whatsoever

Chedozie, God love him, is still the same player as he was when I first seen him playing against Cashel Town for Cork u19s.. a really fast runner. But nothing else.. absolute fair play to him for making a career as a footballer

Jake O Brien on throws.. its pathetic.. absolutely pathetic.. for a number of reasons

1. If you're going to use long throws as a tactic, have your tallest player in the box receiving.. not throwing

2. His throw isn't particularly long. Seriously, Megan Campbell throws further for the womens team, and hers actually cause chaos, unlike O Briens

3. Because if you want an effective throw, its got to be fast and flat. O Briens are big looping throws into the air, that are meat and drink to a defender.. Delaps throws in the past, were fast and flat so attackers didnt need to generate power, simply get a flick on. Even if we were winning the throw, there's no power on them

Corner kicks.. long loops over the top, with Ogbene deployed to nod back across.. more waste of time

I really want this team to do well.. but f**k me they'd test you

The Armenian game plan is so simple. Focused on our defensive line. Press the fck out of them when they have the ball and cut off the outside. When they have it, turn the Irish defensive line - balls into channels. Looks like we expected them to concede the ball and put in a low block.

The long throws are utterly baffling. We've hardly created a half chance out of any of them over two games, yet we continue to aimlessly throw the ball into the box to nobody.

Ogbene should be first taken off, at half time. Doesnt matter if the pitch is brutal, Johnston should be offered a chance to run at them now. Taylor for Idah should be given food for thought as well and have two big lads up top and allow them to play off one another and go back to basics.

I dont have the mental capacity to watch another year long manager hunt. We've talked about green shoots for years. Id rather a shot to the head at the moment.

Even on the off chance we come back in this game somehow, there is no fun or enjoyment in this anymore

The thing is, if they got at these lads at all you just know they'd collapse, but we still look lethargic out there.

Have to get Johnston on in the next five minutes. He'll create chances by himself in a way no-one else we have can.

We all need to take a collective look at ourselves. Because we are blaming this manager, that manager, this player, that player, this formation, that formation, pointing to what we think we know about football, about our players, their clubs and their roles at those clubs and then disparaging the weak opposition.

We have a minority of players who are vital to their clubs, but none of them - not one - who are vital in a part of the pitch that wins you games for a club of importance. Not even Ferguson yet.
They are either defenders, or they are water carriers who have better players to do it for them.

We point to results in MEANINGLESS matches and how expending maximum effort and some skill against teams with bigger and better priorities as another reason why we deserve to beat 'minnows' such as Armenia etc, all while ignoring the difficulties that these perceived minnows have caused us.

We mock Armenia for getting the **** pumped out of them the other night by arguably one of the best teams in the world right now - the same team gave us a tonking not too long ago. What ****ing right do we have to laugh at Armenia?

Theres no excuses, player for player we should be far better than Armenia. Our players lose the capacity to play simple 5 yard passes when they put on an Ireland shirt. Evan Ferguson is fantastic and we should be doing everything possible to just feed him the ball, instead we cant pass past midfield

There's absolutely a lot in what you say about our lot - but I do think we should still absolutely not be struggling/losing against Armenia (again)

And rightly so. We all know these games are a struggle and we’re almost never going to hammer them. I’m not sure anyone was laughing at them or taking them for granted. What we should be able to expect though is some sort of coherent approach and sense of shape and tactics. We knew what Kenny wanted to do, but couldn’t execute and had no plan B. HH gave the impression he’d make the team tactically sound, with a cohesive shape and basic style. What’s happening tonight is worse than anything in the recent past. We’ve got players with far more experience, playing at a very high level and they look like a badly organised Astro league team who’ve just met for the first time. It’s baffling.

McCarthy played 250 times in the Premier League, he'd be a Rolls Royce compared to what we have in the middle now. Massively underrated player for us.
