I can't quite understand how RTE cannot put Cork on TV. Croatian TV is now showing Litex v Rijeka (played Pats a few years back if you remember) right after showing their other side. Both of these teams are not even of the big two (Dinamo and Hajduk) and they are a country of similar size to us with quite a poor league. It seems in fact they possibly got the clubs to schedule their games so they could show both. Later on another country of similar stature Slovenia will show Publikum (again not one of their bigger clubs) in the UEFA Cup too. Yet we cannot be bothered to show our one remaining club in Europe.
44' Blow It Up!
we played litex in 2001Quote:

0 - 1 still, I think it's half time
Croatian league is bigger audience I reckon. I was at a league game in Split a few years ago and the stadium ther is pretty huge. They got about 25,000 for that gameQuote:

1-0 half time
Were they playing Dinamo at the time? Dinamo and Hajduk are a fair bit bigger than the rest of the clubs. The team playing Red Star looked like a country village and the attendence wasn't massive. Cork are our biggest team and our only remaining European team and we cannot bother to show them. I'm just pointing out that these countries are not baulking when it comes to filling their responsibilities as national broadcasters no matter what the club or tie.Quote:
