He’d be a great manager of the soccer ball team Finn Harps and would have them scoring 2-16 in no time at all.

Surely be to God he'd sort the goalkeeping problem out at least, seeing as he's used to playing with 15 of them.
In that odd sport he managed in, apparently the goalkeepers are allowed handle the ball OUTSIDE the penalty area! Weird...
I think Harps have been practising putting the ball over the bar all season so no big change needed:rolleyes:
Adam McDonnell signed for Bohs from Sligo. Nice to see signings being made early. Last couple of seasons it felt like new faces were coming into the club later and later

McDonnell no loss from our point of view. Spent most of last season passing the ball backwards.
Paddy Kirk has said his goodbyes also.
kirk is very good , big loss for sligo
pats fans have any word on this? ben curtis , mccormack and corbally all open to leaving?
He definitely works hard and looked good last season but very frustrating this season watching him
He was very good for the season he was with us.
Had heard Derry as well
Wouldn't be too excited about the McDonnell signing if I was a Bohs fan. If Kirk does come back he'll add some much needed bite to the team. He was excellent for Sligo this season. Good honest lad too
You severely underestimate how poor our midfield was this season outside of Devoy and Clarke, both of whom could have won player of the season having only played half a season.
Flores can kick a lovely ball. Outside of that he's pretty poor. Levingston has patches of decent play but is poor overall
Doherty played as a defender this year
Coote never got near the heights of last year and didn't even make the squad on a couple of different occasions
McManus has potential but still very young and prone to a rookie error
There were probably others who never saw the pitch or spent more time injured than playing so I didn't bother including them.
If McDonnell can be consistently available and put in 6/10 performances week in week out that's a big improvement on the current lot.
Interesting that Rovers have made solid enquiries to Derry about Brian Maher which would involve a big transfer fee, can we assume Mannus not staying another year then or is he being phased out?
I think the negativity around this is a bit too harsh. McGuinness has spent nearly a decade now working within Soccer - its not like he is just GAA man.
Plus Harps are in the First, its not like he is going to the European Super League. What will the other C.Vs be like that they receive?
I dont know what he is like, if he knows his stuff or not. Thats for the Finn Harps management to decide. But he has paid his dues in the sport to be considered and I definitley would not just write him off because he is well known in another sport.
Come on sbgawa you know full well if a player in our league is tapped up ( sorry approached ) and the money tree waves they’re off, And I care not what the official bull****e is from wofuss, you’re paying by far the biggest wages, three year deals, and every player in this league is going for that.
Anyone who thinks derry would sell maher to rovers needs to go and have a lie down. Not a chance in hell that is true
I’d gladly represent young Micheal for a tidy 15%
Rovers wanted Duffy by all acoounts but apparantly he is playing for Derry for the love of the game :)
Spend all the European money on Cotter.

Sligo Rovers signed Johan Brannefalk, a Swedish defender from Norrby IF.

Are Sligo actually starting back training next week? That's a long pre season.
Paddy Kirk to Bohs confirmed. Some decent business getting done so far. Big clear out still needed the sooner the better though.
