Like that format, in that it gives teams within striking distance of the top half of the FD something to aim for, but when there are likely to be the same number of regular league rounds in 2023 as in the PD, the running off of the playoffs would need to be condensed.
Just FYI fans getting main stand tickets if it looks like the stand is going to sell out get there early if the weather's bad
There's a good couple of hundred restricted (as in literally can't see half of the pitch) seats in that stand
Will people be able to pay on the gate on the night does anyone know?
Fair play, great numbers there.
We're onto our sixth 52 seater bus, I think there's a smaller bus going from Dublin also, so seven supporters buses going in total.
It should be a good occasion, along with the neutrals at the game, the attendance should be close to 2,000 or more.
There's no indication the playoffs - which have been almost ever-present since 1992 - were going to be done away with though, so Henderson can hardly have been instrumental in their reintroduction, as you suggest
10 buses full as of last night including one from Dublin. Brilliant from the club sponsoring the busses so tickets are only €5 a head.
Great travelling support going to Limerick tonight from Galway with over 1200 tickets presale
Over 1K inbound from Waterford, should be a loud night at the Market's Field from both set of supporters, boiiii how I wish I were home for this waaann!
1500 tickets sold by Galway tonight, impressive from them…..
Looks like the rain might hold off till 10pm. Hopefully that is the case. While I think Galway rain is the worst kind of Irish rain, Limerick rain is close behind! Hopefully Galway can get it done, but I'm not convinced by their awful form since about July.
Absolute howler from Conor Kearns there....
Massimo Taibi-esque there from Kearns. Early days yet however.
Match temporary suspended because of an issue with the stand behind the goal.
The stand behind the goal in Markets Field has been cleared due to safety issue. What a kip of a place, how does it pass licensing, game also held up.
Reminds me of the time the stand at the old Belfield started to break apart during our LC final there. The floor gave way, and left a big gap with a 3m drop.
Game wasn't stopped, mind. We just moved the away from the hole.
We were made of stronger stuff back then.
Whatever about the licensing process that was done at the start of the year, I saw Waterford fans reporting issues with that stand on their visit there just last week! Pure and utter negligence to allow this to happen tonight. Hopefully clearing the stand was done before anyone hurt themselves
2 nil Waterford, another mistake but the striker took it well, game over id say...
Disruption doing Galway no favours conceded two bads goals though.
JC'S last game ?
Probably. United have a few quid behind them so I reckon his days are numbered
JC still playing football like it is 2002 and not 2022?
1990 more like
Galway have hit the post and had one of the line in the second half, going to need one soon though......
And now missed a penalty
When it's not your night...
3 nil,game over.....
Conor Kearnes has had a woeful night....
For sure.
Waterford v UCD will be tight
Probably should have been a second yellow for the penalty foul. But that isn't what made the difference on the day.
Individual errors and not taking their chances cost Galway in the end.
Waterford definitely the better team. Hopefully they can finish the job now
Now onto the revenge of UCD..
Hard to see UCD living with Waterford but in a one off game anythings possible and UCD have won matches this season when they needed to
