Lads I think It would be a lot easier on the man who has to tot up all the points at the end of the week if those who have already posted their predictions without a banker would edit the previous post rather than put it in a new one.

Still not to late to change back to original rules, all the negatives look negative. Well done TB, everyone check your own scores to make sure its right. -2 points if your banker is wrong. And gnasher had celtic as banker so didn't have one.

Poor start by most. Who could have Guessed Port would only draw. Well done Ballina. Was at the Heane game and I'd have to say truely shocking stuff. The Boro were bad but the Heane were absolute S*** and this is only 3 Weeks after their FAI run. Were lucky in the end to get a draw. There was only one footballer on the field Dara Duffy - Light but skilfull. Pete Burke is a better centre half than Midfielder and the absence of Donnelly, Conroy and Walsh proved a liitle too much. Some of the B team that were there are better footballers than some wearing Green/Black shirts on the field. Let's hope the new man get't it right soon !!!!!
I think it's a well enough known fact down this side of the county that the Port will not be taking this years league too seriously. They experimented with the team yesterday and were missing a few players (not through injury). Lads are getting a rest before they go after national honours again next year.
We won't be the bankers in the super league this year so don't pick us as such.
And before anyone has a rant, we are not de-valuing the league.
Joe, well done for getting this thing going agin and crunching the numbers. I have one query; when Celtic do eventually play S&F and if they win do I get the bonus as the banker then? It's not my fault they did not play on Sunday or have I missed something in the rules?Quote:

Great to be on top! And will probably finish in the relegation zone at the end of the season!!:p :DQuote:

Now a week later it seems that this is their official line. What are we to take from this ? Are they so afraid of Celtic as to Making excuses already ? Is the absence of Cusack such a terrible blow ? I for one cannot, repeat cannot, understand how 'resting' (sic) any players makes them any better fot a competition due to start in October. Take Celtic for example, Like them or Hate them, They have been playing continously now for a year. have a 2005 cup final to play, Q/F FAI Cup, Ditto Connaught cup and are a round behind in the super already. Do we hear this S*** from them ? Methinks when you are winning it is wonderfull. All the cracks are covered up. But after a defeat these same cracks turn to chasms and to be honest I expected the Port to take on Celtic's challenge this year and repel them in the name of football for make no mistake they are on a different planet to Celtic as regards football. Chelsea v Arsenal anyone !!!
So please Port come out a say it was a prank or that your was doing it for a dare !! :o
Westport had eleven players on the pitch just like ballina, they may have been missing players but so were ballina, no excuses, ballina should have won, and were unlucky not to have beaten westport, good game, in the end decent result for westport...
Well done boro on there result

One sometimes wonder what the C.T. PRINTS i can only say with suprize has Westport thrown in the towel after the comments that there manager made after the Ballina game we are not really going to defend our crown.
or has it got to much for them or are they afraid that Castlebar Celtic has taken it to new level and they have decided we can,t compete I am amaized of what P burns said. his club was the only true Champions and the poeple's champions
I say to you in Westport come on dont throw the towel in just yet.
What the sam hell does it matter to anyone what westport are doing this year? We all know our limits lads. You cannot continue to play football in league, cup, conn cup and junior cup, forever with out a break. Don't forget we've been on the go for four years straight. How many junior clubs can say that? there is a thing called fatigue, and it happens to everyone who is human.Quote:

We're not throwing in the towel and we will give whoever is up there a hell of a run for their money. You can't turn away from rivalry and we won't. We're just not that bothered in the super league this year. We have two big enough squads to swap around players and keep lads fresh for the winter.
Anyway, is it not about time teams like Manulla, Ballina Town, and Ballyheane try to wrestle the stranglehold West Mayo's big two have on soccer honours in the county? Don't start knocking us because your own ambition is in the trenches. Stand up and be counted yourselves.

This could actually be the emergence of a trend by the more successful clubs to keep their top players fresh for the external competitions, that they are working hard to win. If such a trend emerges, then the governing body may then have to review their competitions or the Super League may be the same worth of a plastic cup from McDonalds by the Westports and the Castlebars of this world. The message from the successful clubs are "Give us a break. We are playing all year long without a rest!"Quote:

Think might be no harm to change the scoring, far too many people in negative figures. Someone could start for the last few games of the season and be near the top.
What do ye think about:
3 points for a correct result, 6 if its a draw you predict (they're that bit harder to call)
9 points for a right score and -2 points for a wrong result.
Double points for bankers be it wrong or right.
need to have people in positive figures methinks. Any views?
