Looking like a very strong Irish contingent at Bristol City this season.
Scores in his second league game for Bristol City. Given that he has had barren spells and 3 in 61 league games for Qpr, it would be great if he can build a better ratio at his new club early.
Will have to keep scoring now that Bristol City have signed Twine from Burnley. However they may compliment each other
Twine's more of an attacking midfielder/10.
Fally Mayulu, another powerful, physical forward, will be his more direct competition for a starting place.
Come on lads, surely someone can string a few more puns together?
Someone might string you up if you keep at it is all...
Things looking a bit ropey for Armstrong now all right.
He'll get out of this bind.
Scored today with an assist from Knight
Started today, subbed off at the 60th. Did okay when get got the ball ..but that was about twice.
Cullen having a solid game. Knight not so much. Sykes is growing on me
Edit: Sykes subbed off just as I posted
Armstrong is only 21 and still very raw - he has size, speed, strength and no little talent but I think it will be 3/4 years before we see what level he will end up (and I remain confident)
I didn't mean my post to sound disparaging. Burnley were just all over them. Bristol had one shot the entire first half. I agree there's a player in there and he does offer something different than the rest of our strikers
Reported to be surplus to requirements at Bristol City.
Rovers should take him on loan if they qualify for the Conference League.
The problem for Sinclair is that there's a limited market for strikers that don't score goals. Being a physical unit and fast as **** only gets you so far.
At least at QPR it felt like he was having a big impact in games even though he rarely scored. There were less obvious signs of that last season at Bristol. If anything he seems to have regressed in the last 12 months.
Yeah I was hoping he'd be a better goalscorer by now
Seen on twitter, Bristol City fans calling him lazy, watched him a good bit for QPR and he was all energy. Not sure what's gone wrong with him.
Various outlets linking him with a loan move to Preston as well as sundry League One clubs.
Seems to have come back into a bit of form recently and was reported to be Bristol City's best player yesterday in a good win over Middlesbrough.
You kind of have to take him for what he is, which is a non-scoring forward, but possibly he could be a worthwhile squad member as competition for Ogbene for the second forward/hard working runner role for Ireland.
Does something he almost never does - scores a goal. No goalkeeper to beat it must be said, but he's probably a live option for the March squad just for his effort around the pitch.
Blasts in a second for good measure. Really good hit. The Sky reporter did make a point of saying that he's missed a load of chances as well in between the two goals. But you'd have him ahead of Johnny Kenny surely?
There's a lot of players benched together in the "God I hope it doesn't come to this but it could" category
Armstrong is still only 22 and, despite four seasons in the Championship, is still very raw. I suggested before that he could be 27/28 before we really see what he is capable of - then he will be taking chances like those he missed yesterday - thats if he has the patience and maturity because frustration could get the better of him.
