Will Dundalk get sucked into the relegation battle?
1 point potentially from 3 games - yup! Its relegation form even if unlikely over the full 18. Just dont have the composure with the ball, very sloppy at times, dont cope at all with being pressed, no pace to passing, defensively frail, Gannon well out of form by his standards as an example. I havent figured out whether they are playing through Colovic a lot or whether he is the one that is stepping up.
With the quality of ball that Colovic can deliver, it would better suit a Georgie Kelly than McMillan.... On the up side, Murray so far has done more since the forced sub of Mountney. Cant really see what happened for the Murphy injury, strained the calf muscle maybe as it didnt look like any real clash with another player.
Well that fairly ringing the changes at half-time! VP annoyed with a lack of effort or a hint of desperation!?
This would do now, 0-1 blues at half time.
Didnt know about Johnny Glynns daughter being rescued until I was listening to OTB AM and I heard Johnny being interviewed. Hopefully our country will lift itself from the gloom we are in at present.
Great comeback but shocking defending for that corner.
Wow....I'll take that....talk about an almost complete turnaround....hanging on at the end.
Some contrast between the first 75 and last 15. The red card certainly turned the game.
Not sure what to make of it really. Perth is hanging on to his job.
Champions League next week and we've Sligo & Derry away coming up. Huge improvement needed.
Was all very 'pre season' from Dundalk. Could have nicked the 3 points maybe should have but would have been unfair on Waterford. Slowed things down, broke up play and hung in. Dundalk only seemed to play at all v 10 but were still wasteful, sloppy passing, poor frees in good positions. The goal seemed to lift the tempo also. Have to stop shipping soft goals especially like the second Waterford one where a bad touch from Odwua had us srambling. Still think McMillan needs a batch of chances to net one. Cant see how the peno shout was offside but with the single camera angle hard to properly judge so would be disingenuous to call it stonewall. With respect to the cup, the season hangs on a perfromance next Wednesday now. Up to Bohs to chase Rovers or it will be a saunter to the title!
Thought Oduwa looked very capable when he came on, especially in the last 15. Himself and Colovic would be positives for Dundalk in the European games,
Chris Shields looks shot.
Dundalk were awful, even the goals two are set pieces and that’s the only way they were likely to score. Very, very poor football from them and if they carry that over to Europe they are out already.
anyone else not getting an actual stream from Cork here just the cover photo thingy?
Will Waterford face a fine for all them yellow cards.
WatchLOI not working for Cork v Sligo. Issue with the camera.
Not good. Was looking forward to watching it.
Camera not working according to SRFC Twitter
It took a while for Oduwa to look dangerous. He started off with the multiple turns, holding the ball but not really going anywhere. He then started running at defenders and showed what he could do. He'd be a nightmare to defend against and a couple of one-two moves that worked nicely. If he started to drive more in to the box you could see him nabbing a few penos. He could move off the wing too if he adapted some. First time he got some proper competative time so will improve no doubt. Im presuming Colovic was being minded ahead of CL as while both are lefties, would be more effective than throwing McMillan on and taking one of them off instead. Sheilds not in form at all. I wouldnt call him shot but there's more expected of him, with the players around him, than doing what he is excellent at which is breaking things up in midfield. Its like he is being expected to play the 'O'Donnell role' more and more but S'OD was a natural passer along with the midfield graft. Its like a side that is being rebuilt and the manager doesnt know yet who to pair up and different combinations of players being tried. Though if there were no injuries ye still get the feeling that the old reliables would get the nod bar Colovic so far.
Cork score against the run of play.
That's a decent summary to be fair.
From what I'd seen of him, stevie used his positioning to break up play as much as throwing himself into tackles. But Shields looked like he couldn't do anything right this evening, and only a fool would fail to acknowledge what a big part he's been of Dundalk in the last couple of years.
I'd like to see what Leahy would do for Dundalk at LB.
Unfortunately it's hard to see how Dundalk will progress next week.
Sheridan fairly riled Perth up, telling him he's getting sacked anyway.

Sheridan sounds like a real scumbag.
The spiv owners pal thats giving him a dig out has no class?
Shacked so I am.
I'd have preferred to hear Perth's thoughts on the performance (or lack of) to be honest.
Cabo take the lead against Cobh, so they're 5 points clear at the top with 12 games to go as things stand.
What they do with Stradbrook then is anyone's guess.
Play in bray.
One on the performance is here;

Not sure what to think of that result, especially as I saw so little of it. WatchLOI would want to sort that out going forward.
We've lost to Sligo at home in August every season for what seems like forever so it's really nice to turn that around. Also massive to score some goals, that has been a real concern so far this year. Delighted for Dinanga to score again. We might have unearthed a gem from the academy, or maybe hell come down to earth like so many before him but well take the goals in the meantime.
Dundalks opposition in the champions league haven't played since 22nd of July, 3 weeks without a game might give u a shout, also you are due a performance
Sounds like Sheridan went a couple of steps further than just insulting Perth.
'He said the league is a shambles, a pub league': Perth reveals extraordinary John Sheridan outburst https://the42.ie/5176349
VP certainly sound ratthled. Bit of an irony talking up a RoI hero then commenting on 'these English lads coming over and disrspecting it (the league). Does stink of a lack of class from Sheridan, bit bitter himself maybe for not seeing out the win. A managers attitude can rub off on a team and Waterford were pretty niggly with the fouls and racking up the cards but it was effective to the point of the red card. Maybe Vinny was right to call this out but he could have risen above such pettiness also. Sheridan has done well so far but he would know all about being sacked with all the clubs he has gotten through!
Bar Rovers and Bohs (and Dundalk) there's damn all consistency with results. Sligo were looking like pushing for a euro berth and Cork considered in big trouble, goal shy and struggling v non league and 1st division clubs recently, never mind league performances, then knock 3 in against a form side!? Pressure on Harps if confidence builds at Turners Cross. Results for the rest of this round will be interesting.
Obviously it's completely wrong to say those things but this happens in football all the time. He wanted to wind up Perth and it clearly worked. He is completely rattled over it.
Perth is no angel either, he wasn't as a player and he hasn't been as a coach - he's caused a few rows from the dugout over the years, particularly with Rovers.
Concentrate on your job. We're a shambles.
He should have replied with a well you've just moved country to manage in a pub league then John, no one else seemed to want you! VP is no saint but if its true that Sheridan followed him well after the game to sling some rubbish then its a tad beyond trash talk during a game. What probably happened is Sheridan shouting stuff at his own players about the league that VP didnt like. It got mentioned in a post match interview with Perth. Sheridan gets asked about Perths comments, takes exception and does the Vinny who routine. Regardless people are going to see its as VP deflecting, but it also shows JS's (unfounded) sense of superiority. Great player, average manager!
