Aidan has done a great job up there the last couple of seasons, surprised with Mike Ahern signing him he is absolutely woeful

Bit harsh, he has plenty of medals and played a lot of games for a fella that’s woeful.

Another defeat for boro , they need serious change
Some win for AA at home to Balla tonight, deserved it.
Balla have a job on their hands trying to pick themselves up for Sunday.
Balla looked very average tonight
Mungret Regional 5-0 Nenagh
Geraldines 2-1 Kilmallock United
Ballynanty Rovers 3-4 Pike Rovers
Janesboro 2-2 Coonagh United
Prospect Priory 0-5 Aisling Annacotty
Regional United 2-4 Fairview Rangers
Prospect manager gone to the Boro.
O'Hanlon is still there.
I haven't seen the Boro since the first day, but I thought that O'Hanlon, Ryan and Sugrue (who I'm not sure is actually on the management team or not) in the dugout that night was a case of too many cooks.
Prospect left with no manager, boro look like they will free fall. Braddish and Daithi have a good history there but it will be tough to change it around
Sugrue seems to be a decent coach. But may not want the hassle of managing the juniors just yet.
All about trying to get stability in the boro I think at this stage. League is gone. They can forget about the fai and Munster junior.
Are they the Oscar traynor team for the ldl this year ?
Martin sugrue needs more experience but in time might step up to that level, very good boro man as well. I would not be surprised if the new manager brought him in
Dont think Derek Braddish is gone back.
Would the league have a weakened Boro team represent them this year.
Sugrue has pulled out of managing the youths this year by all accounts.
The oscar trainer is a pub competition now
So KC,..the Oscar... Traynor...is a pub competition and as you have previously posted the Junior Cup is finished, all you need to do now is denegrate the Mjc and the league to complete a clean sweep ,lets face it both those competitions have plenty ammunition for you to do so.
He’s got a point in fairness, between the objections last year in the FAI and the way teams are approaching the Oscar Traynor it probably is gone ridiculous. A change of format in the latter and a tightening up or more transparency at least of the rules in the former and they could get a new lease of life.
As far as the Boro are concerned it was always going to be hard to maintain the hunger after the success of recent years, for the players and for the managers. Aidan Ryan, like him or not, doesn’t have much to prove to anyone. The FAI being the only trophy they haven’t won in the last few years must be tough to take for them but it’s been a few years of success that any club would envy. The Clarke’s the same, strange as it might seem that they picked Ashling.... All things come to an end.
Very good points TG on both Fai competitions however I would point out objections have been part/parcel of the Junior cup going back many years, obviously effecting Limerick club participation last season which has lead to imo some over reaction in terms of what actually occurred...everyone is in the draw again after all......would certainly agree Oscar Traynor needs revampimg.Janesboro haul of trophies the last few seasons has indeed been impressive and plenty clubs would i.m sure like what the ..Cooks[shearers reference] served up.The Views visit to Pearse std Sunday should be interesting Purcell given the squad assembled will be looking for good cup runs.
The attendance at the semi final will give you an indication how far back it has gone, the amount of elite clubs that found intermediate football more of an attraction that they were willing to drop down divisions to play. The fai junior cup has been plagued with objections due to rulings that are combined with senior status rulings which is totally ridiculous(professional/amateur). We have junior clubs struggling to get eleven players on a Sunday morning, the amount of walkovers last year took away some level of valuation from winning silverware, The oscar trainer competition has dwindled for years with counties dropping out, counties such as the Desmond league, south tipp and more, The latter who would have a strong influence in that competition, it is now represented by junior clubs (not counties) after years of trying to field a team on match day.
Yellow Lyons gone to Balla.
They sure love ex-LOI players out there.
He,s joining the right club so,they don,t win elite trophies,
Steven Bradley gone to Fairview, serious signing for them
Just seeing that the FAI Junior Cup odds are out, interesting from a Limerick perspective:
Pike - 5/1
Balla - 12/1
Fairview - 14/1
AA - 16/1
Regional - 16/1
Boro - 25/1
Dines - 50/1
Pike are a very good price at that
The addition of Robbie Williams could be a huge minus too ….time will tell.
I wouldn't be overly certain of Pike having the same manager in place for the season.
[QUOTE=Shearer;2018235]I wouldn't be overly certain of Pike having the same manager in place for the season
Interesting times ahead , but the circumstances are hard to prove and costly process🤔
Red Hanlon gone to Balla. Shaun Kelly and Jason Hughes to follow. Only problem being they'll be up sh*t creek without a paddle when/if they all leave in January.
League of Ireland pre-season, if there's a club there.
