And the November friendlies, more importantly. Maybe Rotherham would be happy to let him have two full games to get fitness back given they won't have a match themselves for another month. But equally it's possible we're looking at another injured forward unavailable for selection.
Gives Zach an opportunity to stake a claim for a squad place. Especially considering the second game vs Malta.
Could be back for the Burnley game tomorrow week manager said in post match interview. Would give him four games before the international break.

Rotherham's first win away to Sheffield United in 42 years.
Chalk and cheese Sheffield United were compared to the weekend when they played Burnley, but Rotherham showed up with a game plan and worked their socks off for that win. Rotherham were well organised in defence often lining up 5-4-1 in the second half but first half their wing backs were getting high up the pitch and Wiles would try support Ogbene up top best he could.
Kioso also had a very good game and lasted 78mins before hopefully only coming off with cramp. Before the only goal of the game he had the best chance where he got into the box and forced the SU keeper into a good save with a header.
Scored again today, but Rotherham's slide down the table continues; 1 win in 8 now and they're just three points above the drop
Finding their real level after a strong start to the season. Ogbene will move on at the end of the season regardless I think - there will be a dozen other teams in that division with more resources that would all love to get him in.
Oh he's out the door on a free transfer next summer whether Rotherham stay up or not. Hopefully bangs in a few more goals and gets himself a decent move.
Ogbene is top of Swansea's wanted list, according to Wales Online (29 Dec). His contract with Rotherham ends in July. But can Swansea afford him in January? "It's understood the Millers quoted £2m as the asking price for Ogbene when recently approached by a Belgian club".
pretty sure their head of recruitment has signed him twice previously. be an interesting move, i wonder where swansea see his best position. they are in need of a rwb by all accounts but seems like obafemi is pushing for a move so ogbene might be a forward option in that case.Quote:

Swansea will be looking for a striker. Both Obafemi and Piroe have 18 months left on their contracts and neither player wants to sign a new one so Swansea need to move them on rather than risk losing them for nothing.Quote:

Got his 7th goal of the season tonight against Swansea. That's a decent return from 25 starts this season.
If would be a great time for him to hit form and increase his numbers before contract negotiations with potential clubs this summer.

Hasn't been great lately but turned it on in front of the Sky cameras - probably not a coincidence given he's a player that wants out of Rotherham and will be moving on at the end of the season.
Will be interesting to see what kind of club he can get as a free agent.

I didn't actually mean it as a criticism, I think he's right to run down his contract and move on to hopefully better things. But usually when players turn it on in front of the live TV cameras it's not a coincidence. He was everywhere last night, back defending, getting on the end of chances up front. It's always going to get noticed more by other clubs when it's a live TV game.
Belgian sports journalist Sacha Tavolieri, quoted by 'The 72' today, claims that Standard Liege are monitoring Ogbene, and that some discussions have already taken place. Ogbene becomes a free agent this summer.
He needs to be aiming higher than a mid table Belgian team surely. He'd be as well staying at Rotherham as going there.
A while in the Belgian league did Josh Cullen no harm. Think it would be a very positive move for him at a big club.
a top 6 championship move should be his aim or a "better" top flight team outside the usual top 5 leagues , netherlands belgium etc.
Ogbene would be older than Cullen going over though, and Standard Liege are not Anderlecht. He's 26 in a couple of months, as a late developer he needs a good move in England now - probably to a Championship team with genuine promotion prospects.Quote:

I think a newly promoted Premier League side would be smart to go for Ogbene. If you're in a situation where you're not going to have as much of the ball and will need to counter, he's the perfect outlet as he demonstrated yesterday. Perhaps hasn't done enough at club level to justify a move like that to be fair but on a free transfer it would give clubs a different option.
Standard Liege are, arguably, the biggest side in Belgium. They're four points ahead of Anderlecht in the league with four regular season games left. They still have an outside chance to get into the top four and with that, a guarantee of some European football. Failing that, they get a Europa League league playoff by finishing in the next four.
