Wouldn't be surprised to see either Pat's or Bohs go down this year.
Not saying it's going to happen of course, but they've both been going backwards lately, and with three down, it's not really a season for going backwards.
2nd go at this..
1. Dundalk
2. Cork
3. Shamrock Rovers
4. St. Patrick's Athletic
5. Derry City
6. Bray Wanderers

Hope I'm wrong with my status quo/obvious predictions, the LOI could really do with a Finn Harps/Athlone double header of Leicester City-esque shocks
Ezeikal can speak for him/herself.
Bradley says 'of course we can finish higher than Cork', meaning 2nd place. That sounds like it's a very doable expectation to finish second.
This isn't a court of law, so some reasonable leeway can be allowed with an interpretation in a flowing dialogue where supporters are prone to rib each other.
My predictions are usually 99% wrong, therefore
1. Cork
2. Dundalk
6/1 the field.
This was tougher than usual - the relegation battle is going to be very interesting. I think everyone from Pats down could be in trouble, and I didn't want to pick a third team to be relegated.
1. Cork City - I'm a little bit confident, so this means well definitely finish 3rd.
2. Dundalk - They will have a slow start but will come strong
3. Shamrock Rovers - Closer than in previous years but not close enough
------
4. Derry City - I don't fancy them this year but I don't really think any of the teams outside the top 3 will be all that good.
5. Sligo Rovers - Their manager impressed me last year, could make a push for Europe.
6. Bray Wanderers - if they don't go bust - I think they might go bust
7. St. Patricks Athletic - Not as bad as many think they will be, not all that good either
8. Bohemian F.C. - Shane Supple will be their best player
9. Limerick - they will struggle to keep goals out
------
10. Galway United - Right about where they usually end up
11. Finn Harps - Sorry Harps fans
12. Drogheda United - Sorry Drogs fans
First:
1. Waterford United - easily
2. Longford Town
3. Cobh Ramblers
4. U.C.D.
5. Wexford
6. Shelbourne
7. Athlone
8. Cabinteely
F.A.I. Cup - Is it time for Shamrock Rovers to win... nah. Derry City
League Cup - Cork City - We're due one.
Edit: Top Goalscorers
Premier: Sean Maguire
First: Mark O'Sullivan - with 16
It'll be a tough title to win this year.
With three teams automatically going down, earning points against the bottom half clubs will be tougher than usual.
There will be very few teams safe in mid table just seeing out the season.

You do have a point Ger and it's on the record somewhere, I genuinely thought Bohs would get past a league 2 Icelandic side.
Instead they got walloped.
In just 90 minutes, Bohs managed to sink whatever little was left of my prediction cred with a torpedo, for eternity.
Confidence is totally shattered.
On the contrary it clearly does because it's not just a matter of Bradley saying "we can", he said "of course we can"
Cambridge english dictionary." the phrase of course, used to introduce an idea or turn of events as being obvious or to be expected"
Therefore when Bradley says "of course we can", he elevates it to Obama heights of Yes We Can!! certainty.
LOL
If Bradley had said "we will finish above Cork" that would be one thing. saying "of course we can finish above Cork" simply means its a possibility and nothing else, the "of course" simply emphasises that it is a possibility.
Thank God the season is starting and this kind of semantic rubbish will be history soon.

Yeah agree with Pats, at 6/1 with PP worth a punt too
I also did some other bets
Double top scorers
Mark O'Sullivan (Waterford) @ 3/1 Sean Maguire (Cork City) @ 4/1
And Double To Win
Cork City @ 11/4
Waterford FC @ 8/11
Think Horgan and Boyle will be too much of a loss to Dundalk, and Maguire will fire Cork to the title, but it will be a close thing and i am really looking forward to this years league....
Pats are definitely better than last year. No question about that. If Derry's foreign lads work out they could be a danger as McEneff and McNamee are terrific. Rovers midfield is superb but the rest of the squad has question marks. Cork and Dundalk have loads of new players so we'll see if they settle soon. Full expect them to be top 2 but don't think they'll be so far ahead of the ready as recent seasons
Drogheda's squad looks the weakest but Pete Mahon is a great manager to have for a fight
Of course I am completely biased here but I think Drogs are a bit better than most people's predictions.
Mahon is a good manager and the preseason signings have been very interesting. We have a few ex. Premiership players, some promising younger players and three Brennan brothers 🙂 . I really think we will surprise a few people but as said - I am completely bias.
Anyhows I am looking so forward to the season kicking off tonight. If Drogs win I wonder will Paddy's offer to buy me out of my fiver bet at 500-1 to win the league 😋🤗

Boss, you didn't seem to have much hope for you boys, would you be thinking of tweaking this a little after last nights (with respect) surprise result?
With the greatest respect to Drogheda, even their most ardent fans will (and have) admitted it was a complete smash and grab. They were improved in the second half, no doubt, but we dominated the first half and it would not have been unjust if we went in 2-0 or 3-0 up at the break.
They came for a draw and went away with three points, which is a poor reflection on us and a concern, because we ran out of ideas in the second half, they stuck ten men behind the ball and played on the break. We lacked a clinical edge when we were on top, that will have to be remedyed very quickly or we will find ourselves quickly adrift. I didn't see anything last night from Drogheda to suggest they would be outside the bottom 3. That's not having a cut at Drogheda, they were well organised, as all Pete Mahon's sides are, but they were limited. Our fans are disgusted and rightfully so, we shouldn't be losing to teams like that at home. We have to be much better, you can't fault Drogheda for their gameplan, our finishing was atrocious and if you don't take your chances, you're always liable to be sucker punched.
Well with respect to Wexford Youths last year, we would bigger resources, we have more quality than they would've had and we have a lot of established Premier Division players with experience, who should theoretically be better with full time training.
I was somewhat surprised and happy to see so many people writing us off and tipping us for relegation on here and on many other forums. In my opinion, we have a better squad than the last two years, where we stayed up relatively comfortably, but we will need it this year because Drogheda will be stronger than Wexford and Limerick will be a lot stronger than Longford.
Over the last few years we have tended to have squads of 27 or 28 players. This year we have gone for quality over quantity and brought in established players like David Cawley, Gavan Holohan, Ronan Murray. We only really lost Ryan Connolly to Shamrock Rovers, I feel we have adequately replaced him with Murray, Holohan and Cawley.
I wouldn't hit the panic button yet, but that was a game we really should have won comfortably.
Bad start for Galway, but that's all it is, you need to see where you are after 5 or 6 games, that's generally a good sign. Dundalk were hammered 4-1 to Drogs on the opening night of 2014. Still have nightmares about that match!
