The Germany game is on Eurosport on Wednesday, thought I read the game on Sunday will be online

UEFA are experimenting with a new 'ABBA' penalty system for this tournament, along with the women's version, assuming the need arises obviously. The order in which the kicks will be taken will be very similar to a tie break in tennis.
Although it only mentions the new format being trailed in the women's competition on UEFA.com, various other websites indicate it will be in place for the men's also.

Germany 5-0 Bosnia. That result would suggest our chances of progressing largely depend on this game.
Suprised Connolly isn't starting.

Connolly and O'Connor are still recovering from injury according to the FAI on twitter: https://twitter.com/FAIreland/status...25849718317057

Team captain Lee O'Connor & top scorer Aaron Connolly both start on the bench as they continue their return from injury.

Connolly on at half time, denied a penalty.
Lively again from Connolly, clips the outside of the post.
67mins gone
Goal Serbia, ****e
All over, uphill battle now Geoff.
They haven't scored yet on my Mobdro app!
Edit- they have now. Very good header in fairness after Connolly let him go. We were looking very comfortable and the more likely too from what I had seen.
Gave away an indirect free kick for picking up a back pass in the build up to the corner (from which the goal was scored) so a bit of a shambolic series of events.
Germany beat Serbia 3-1 earlier. We kick off against Bosnia-Herzegovina at 15:30. Don't think it's televised.
Think it's on eurosport.com
I read somewhere that it's on the Eurosport Player App too, need a subscription for that though. €6.99/month.
Early goal for Roache. 1-0 Ireland.
Early equaliser too. 1-1
Back in front, Uche Idah penalty.
I note from the as it stands table that head-to-heads supercede GD, that's not good.

Finished 2-1
Germany 6pts +7 (+1max if 3 teams finish on 6)
Serbia 3pts -1 (-1def if 3 teams finish on 6, 0max if 3 teams finish on 3)
Ireland 3pts 0 (0min if 3 teams finish on 6, 0def if 3 teams finish on 3)
Bosnia 0pts -6 (0min if 3 teams finish on 3)
If we beat Germany we go through by my calculations. Or Bosnia 1-0 regardless of our result against Germany.
Serbia win means we have to beat Germany(win by 2 puts us top)
Serbia draw means we have to beat Germany and will finish top.
Serbia 1-0 loss qualifies us on H2H v Bosnia, 2-1, 3-2, 4-3 or a loss by more than 1 goal, would mean we need a least a point against Germany Complicated)
Germany aren't mathematically qualified either so won't be playing 2nd string I imagine.

Down 1-0 already, very soft goal if nicely worked from a German point of view. Goalscorer basically had a free shot from around the penalty spot after losing Collins (I think it was).
Germany made five changes to the side that started the previous match, not sure how many were enforced so nothing too radical anyway.
They have a guy called Maurice Malone up front... surely one for the eligibility thread maybe. :)
Jaysus... 2-0... great strike from the edge of the penalty box but again way too much space.
We had actually started pretty well, Connolly getting on a lot of ball early on.
Germany are already 2-0 up after 15 minutes.

(Sound doesn't appear to be working though.)
3-0 now... :(
3-0. Yikes.
Bosnia-Herzegovina are drawing 0-0 with Serbia. A 1-0 Bosnia win would see us through, but it looks like it's all Serbia
What kind of criteria are they using? A 1-0 for Bosnia would mean that themselves, ourselves and Serbia are all tied exactly on goals scored, goal difference and points. You'd think Serbia would surely have the edge in that scenario having lost by the least amount of goals to Germany (as things stand)?
4-0 now
Aaron Connolly booked for simulation inside the German box. It did look like he stuck his leg out looking for "contact", in fairness.
5-0, O'Brien out.
5-0 now.
Some dreadful goals. Don't want to sound too harsh on a young fella but the Collins chap looks all at sea.
The lack of competitiveness is ominous and certainly doesn't bode well for the future. If this game is anything to go by, it seems we'll still be lagging well behind Europe's elite sides in years to come.
I don't think Germany will ever be our benchmark to be fair, we should have beaten Serbia from what I saw and did beat Bosnia so not a bad showing overall really. Disappointing to bow out like this though.
