Not a great day for the Irish players in the PL yesterday.
Coleman had a tough day against Arnautovic by all accounts, hopefully not a sign of things to come for our WC qualifiers. He should have won a penalty though after being fouled by Pieters. James McCarthy's groin injury flared up again so he only lasted 26 minutes, although he did provide an assist for Lukaku in that time. They seem to be missing him big time, the amount of goals they're conceding is ridiculous. Cleverley replaced him, Gibson an unused sub. Whelan played the full ninety, Walters just the last twelve and Wilson didn't make it off the bench.
Clark had another rocky outing at Carrow Road, he gave the ball away in the lead up to the first goal with a weak header. Richards and co were even worse after that though. He had another shaky moment in the second half when he got caught in possession but he did make an excellent, if completely desperate, recovery tackle. Neither himself or, particularly, Richardson covered themselves in glory for the second goal, which was nicely assisted by Hoolahan with an accurate cross. Villa really are a collective shambles, has there been a worse PL team since Derby's record breaking season? Brady played the ninety, didn't feature that heavily in the highlights. Big win for Norwich, twenty points at the half way stage would be bang on target you'd imagine.
Long seemed to play very well in the first half against West Ham, had a lovely assist and Southampton really should have been out of sight by half time.
Arter started and O'Kane came on after an hour at The Emirates.
Stephen Ward started his first league game of the season, Paddy Madden made his 100th start for Scunthorpe, and Jeff Hendrick scored his 25th goal for Derby in the last round up of 2015: http://irish-abroad.appspot.com/Blog...30929276068943

Being linked with a move to Derby in the Mail.... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/foo..._campaign=1490
Can see some truth in this as he has been a standout for our U21s and for Oxford this season.
Been on the bench recently from what I've seen, but did manage a goal at the weekend.
Leeds United have been linked with a move for Aberdeen goalkeeper Danny Rogers by The Sun. The 21 year old’s contract with the SPL club expires in the summer, and subsequently the youngster will be available on a free transfer at the end of the season.

I find it a bit irritating that this guy is still listed and profiled on the FAI website. How hard can it be to keep it reasonably up to date - one of our Mods would even do a better job!
Long, Walters & McClean all on the score sheet in the PL this evening.
Darren Potter and Jonathan Walters mark 200 starts for their respective clubs, Shane Long's 15th goal for the Saints and more Irish players in one Premier League game than any other so far this season in the midweek round up: http://irish-abroad.appspot.com/Blog...66407496577024

Any word on Brian Lenihan? Doesn't even seem to be getting a run in Hulls u21 side.
Only just back fit according to the manager: http://www.hullcitytigers.com/news/a...a-2940107.aspx
Quote:
Journalist: We saw young Josh Tymon play last weekend and he is now away with the England U17s. Do you have any more youngsters coming through with him?
Steve Bruce: No, unfortunately not at the moment. Brian Lenihan has just got himself fit after a horrific 18 months with injury and once he’s up to speed he’ll probably go out on loan. The same with Greg Luer, with what we’ve got and with what we’ve brought in, he needs to go out and play somewhere when the loan window opens.
