Aye, looks that way. I understand the SFA were tweeting that the game was a sell-out last week... Clearly, that wasn't the case at all, especially if they were still planning this. I have a feeling blocks 116 and 117 might initially have been held back for possible FAI extra allocation, but the SFA have now decided to put them on general sale today, so it's looking like the FAI section is limited to only 118-120, unfortunately, and the FAI have only been made aware of this today. It means the tickets I got will be a block or two away in 115 from our main body of support now, rather than right along the segregation line, as I'd originally thought, so it's a bit annoying also from a personal perspective.Quote:

We'll get into Glasgow off the train from Manchester at 3PM. It's slightly later than we'd have liked, but it's the best we can do. We'll quickly drop off our stuff and be on our way. Just sorted accommodation for four now on Airbnb.com in a flat ten minutes walk south of Central Station. The match tickets can be picked up until kick-off so don't think we should worry too much. We should be OK getting them close to kick-off, I'd imagine, rather than us requiring two trips out to Celtic Park that afternoon? I don't want to leave it too late, obviously, but if they're available for collection up until kick-off, I'd have to imagine the office would be capable of dealing with an inevitable late surge. Will most be gathering in city centre before hand or out around Celtic Park for the build-up?Quote:

Danny, the area around Celtic Park is a bit rough and ready. Plenty of spit and sawdust boozers for a last couple of drinks before kick off maybe but you wouldn't want to spend the day up there.
EDIT: However, I notice you don't get in until 3pm. By the time you've picked up keys to your digs, dropped the bags, collected your match tickets - Thats probably going to take an hour or two. Its probably a good 45 min walk from the city centre to the ground or 20+ mins in a taxi/bus (dependent on match traffic). So you might get an hour or 2 at most in the city centre before you'll need to start heading in the direction of Celtic Park at least.
Aye, had a quick look around the area on Google Street View and, although obviously urban, it looks fairly barren. Reminded me of the area around the City of Manchester Stadium. I often see eager away fans arriving or making their way up to the stadium early on match days only to have thier excitement dampened by the realisation upon having a wander about that, bar a chippy and one or two run-down pubs, there's barely anything to appeal to the senses up there. And so they end up asking for directions back to the city centre.Quote:

Yeah, I think you're probably best having a few beers in the city. Like you say, get a cab around 6pm (so still beating the football fan exodus), pick up the tickets, might be a bit of a queue but you should be all done for 6:30-6:45. Then head in to one of the boozers around the LL side of the ground. Plenty to choose from, all rough kips but just what any discerning football fan wants!Quote:

I bought 4, 2 x 2 seperate occassions - the smart ones selected standard postage by being the most intelligent on the site, by using their time wisely not formulating convoluting posts, but getting tickets posted out instead.

As I said, skip me - it's away section tickets I'm after - as we await clarification.
Ok, but suspect all the 'away' tickets are accounted for unless the FAI got more, but guess the SFA turning a blind eye to loads of Irish fans buying in home areas and hence leading to no segregation is their way 'round this', though the SFA would never admit it.
Especially as there would be relative uproar in certain strands of the local, er, media if they admitted to this.
Plus the cops/UEFA might take a dim view, but ultimately it's the SFA's fault, probably.
Though only if something goes wrong. which it probably won't.

I would Danny, but in the light of regulars elsewhere getting knockbacks and no-one wanting mine on here, plus the PM system usually inducing no response, am going to withdraw mine for the time being as know (probably) more deserving cases. If they all get sorted, will stick back on offer.
Adding myself to this list. Shocked that I haven't a ticket, tbh. Attending the likes of Kazakhstan, Georgia and Faroes, buying a season ticket, you'd have thought one of 3.5k tickets wouldn't be too much of an ask.

Abbey, sponsors and SCs seem to have got the tickets. The SC prioritisation is a joke. People who haven't been to an away match in years (or ever). Would they be making the trip if it was to Liechtenstein?
TBH, most regulars didn't considering buying a home end ticket. With 3.5k away tickets going, the assumption was there would be no issues. How wrong we were.
Tbf, my SC's tickets were allocated based on the no.of season tickets they have and the length of people have been members and applying for tickets.
Not the fairest scheme but 100x better than the 'highest bidder' mentality to the likes of Abbey et al. But anyone who was allocated a ticket and hadn't made any accomodation (& travel in some cases) arrangements are unlikely to go, as the costs are now prohibitive...
I haven't heard anything yet. It's worse than being rejected, I'm being ignored!

Although I hope they do a better follow-up - their top line is anger over the ticket allocation. But obviously the anger isn't over the allocation (always going to be small) or the demand (always going to be large). It's about the FAI shafting diehard travellers.
