Ya I'd agree with you there. At least Costello had a good run of games and knows what it's about. We need options from the bench though.

Thats a list of lads that were around the first team last season that haven't been released. Ones in bold have been re-signed.
From the list who would people want re-signed and who would be priorities? Also going by who you want re-signed what would that leave us needing to bring in?
Tony Whitehead , McGann?, McGrath and Feeney are still 19's so I take it you could count them in but I'd rather they be used sparingly.
Oji, O'Leary, Tracy, Nzuzi and Gaffney are priority.
Would like to hang onto Hughes but can see Rainsford going. Is he still young enough for 19's? I don't think so.
We need another 2 midfielders, two wingers and two strikers. If Oji doesn't sign then another centre half.
Those two aren't under age for 19s anymore as far as i know. Rainsford wont be released going by the way Taylor talks about him.
Id hope we end up with something like this as our main squad next season but tbh cant see us getting that many new lads.

Any of the young lads i have left out i dont want them gone or anything but i wouldnt want them to be involved as much as they were last season until they have had more time to develop. The lack of depth killed us last season i think we would have had a better finish if we could have dealt with injuries and suspensions better and we had no luck with injuries.
I think Tony Whitehead is only 17 or 18.
Ya I definitely want to see them step back a little with so many 19's. I think Taylor wanted to through a few in at the deep end and see how they got on as much as having to resort to them because of injury and suspension. It gave him a chance to see how they got on. I would think Taylor will use the younger lads more sparingly next season if at all possible.
Any body hear anything on Nzuzi? Is he looking for a contract in England or is it just a case of he won't be signing till before he comes back for pre-season?
Rory Gaffney has re-signed, great news.
I wouldn't go that far I have to say, think there's some aspects of his game that will always hold him back. All that said, he's a very good player and I'm delighted he's on board for another year at least, he could be a really key player for us this season.
Well then you can just feck off and support Cork. :p. Na just imo he has been held back by not having a full pre season any of the last 3 i honestly think that if he could stay fit long enough he would be up there i understand where you are coming from though.

Is there any word on Sahne Tracy signing back or are contract discussions ongoing?
I really hope Jason Hughes is re-signed too he earned it.
I had heard Taylor said he wanted him back alright. Surprised its not done and dusted.
http://theloiblog.com/NewsStory.aspx?n=966 interesting read.. Are we falling behind ????
yeah squad very strong at the moment huge strength in depth
A lot of movement by clubs to strengthen and not a lot from us?? Dont get me wrong would love to see 3-4 big signings come in ASAP but no talk of Oji signing back and he was the difference back end of the season also tracy not sorted yet and gamble bradley axcel gone and no news of nzuzi eiter?? Positives with Duggan and leahy but its worrying with cork in particular getting a few in...Also O leary not tied down eiter..
Mike Ahern said to expect a big signing during the week. Whether that's Oji or someone else I don't know. The one thing I will say is we are behind a few teams so far but most are finished or nearly finished signing players so we still have a lot of scope to bring in more.
I'd say Nzuzi and Oji probably won't be back in Ireland till January when pre-season starts so if they are signing then that's the time I expect it.Taylor has said he is talking to Tracy and Hughes trying to come to an agreement. O'Leary while it's not necessarily right hasn't too many options as the club would be due compensation if he went somewhere else.
From what I heard the two right I dream lads won't get work permits till January so that they will have them for the duration of the season rather than needing renewing mid season. If they come in that's another goalkeeper and another centre midfielder. Goin by right to dreams record of bringing through players I have high hopes for those lads.
Yeah very important we get Oji nzuzi o leary tracy all signed up after that 2-3 more big signings in the right positions and we could do really well and thats not including the lads from right to dream signing aswell who i hear are all a very high standard of player..would be happy if kilduff was the player mick ahearn is talking about..
elding, murphy, dennehy, rafter in and duggan out and looks like Horgan aswell.. we lost Bradley gamble axcel calla and could potentially lose oji o leary and tracy..players like rainsford sheedy c.murphy mcgrath whitehead have very little experience of premier football and will be squad players this coming season all potentially good players for the club but will need time to develop... IMO as things stand cork are in a better position than us at the moment but hopefully that all changes over the next few weeks...
Have you ever even seen Murphy play? When you say we "lost" those players you make it sound like it wasn't the managers choice to release them.
Corks squad so far with the lads we have in the same positions next to them:
Ian Turner - Shaun Kelly
Danny Furlong - Barry Sheedy
Brian Lenihan
Darren Murphy - Shane Duggan
Anthony Elding - Rory Gaffney
Colin Healy - Prince Agyemang
Mark McNulty - Barry Ryan
Garry Buckley
Dan Murray -Mick Leahy
Darren Dennehy - Stephen Folan
Billy Dennehy - Danny Galbraith
Michael Rafter- Craig Curran
John Kavanagh
Neale Horgan - Robbie Williams
Is what they have better then what we have? No not really tbh all they have done really is replace Duggan with Murphy, Kilduff with Elding and Horgan with Dennehy two of those are not exactly a step up in quality from what they are replacing and i haven't seen enough of Murphy. I would have been very annoyed if we had signed Rafter he is not good. Lenihan,Buckley and Kavanagh don't have very little LOI experience in fact they have less then Sheedy,McGrath and Rainsford.
Bradley and Call have been replaced with better players and we haven't replaced Axel yet but we will be. We could "potentially" lose Oji, Tracy and O'Leary but there is just as much chance we will keep them. So how much better off are Cork hen us really?
According to Right To Dreams Facebook they were voted the 15th best academy in world football. Would be great to continue strong links with them once the lads work permits come through. From doing a bit of digging it also seems Ali Abass was supposed to sign for Man City when he was 17 but it fell through.
How many times have you seen Prince Agyemang play????? Rafter " is not good" he is 21 and scored 13 goals in 28 games last season elding scored 19 in 26 games..Curran for all his great performances scored 7 goals in 26 games and Rory who had a tough start coming back from long term injury got 5 in 19 so in the goalscoring department we have a bit to find with them..and if we "potentially" lose Oji O leary Tracy there is a lot of big gaps to fill in the squad...
Where did i say anything about Agyemang other then he plays the same position as Colin Healy i don't need to see him play to know where he plays. Rafter isn't a good player he is overweight and has a poor attitude not the kind we need here at all i bet i'm not the only one that has seen the league regularly that wouldn't want Rafter. Craig Curran while not having as good a scoring record last season will do far more for a team then Rafter will. I'm fully aware what Elding scored but he is not a better all round player then Kilduff who he replaced and i fully believe a fully fit Rory will be involved in just as many goals as him. Rory was nowhere near fit for most of last season and even when he was in he played about 7 of his 13 starts up front if even 7.
My point about potentially losing Oji Tracy and O'Leary is that you seem to just complete ignore the fact we could potentially keep them. You also completely ignore that 2 of the 4 people that we let go have been replaced with better players. You also ignore that its not just Duggan and Horgan to leave Cork they have also lost Kalen Spillane and are in the same position with Danny Morrissey as we are with Oji,Tracy and O'Leary.
So really we are very close to where Cork are and definitely not left behind as of now so lets wait til the squad is done before we start to panic. And until someone knows more lets not forget that there is just as much chance lads will stay as they will go.
Good news coming soon.
Sam Oji re-signs.
Brill signing. defence now sorted. a couple of more would do the trick nicely!
That could be it til after Christmas i reckon. Surely Stuart will be heading to Scotland for Christmas.
Taylor interview on Live 95FM in the morning.
Nzuzi, Tracy and Hughes the only ones left to re-sign now is it.
Wouldn't mind signing Garbhan Coughlan too did well while out on loan at Athlone.
Anyone hear the interview this morning?
Where did he say that Jofspring about O'Leary?
