Ha ha I need a pound as I had 50p on both 1-0 and 2-0 wins for Ireland :p

I don't expect Trap to have the humility to quit but it would be nice to see. It will be interesting to see if he revises his position once again and decides that 4th is a very good finish for a country of Ireland's standing with no professional league.
I think his position is untenable at this point. We had a dreadful Euros and a terrible qualification. It's over. Time to move on.
****ing abysmal. I'm fuming at that. What a farce.
I have to say I thought the ref was awful tonight, the Austrian defenders got away with a lot & how was that a free in the last min or so by Coleman?
Quick look at the table.

It really is desperate. When the wheels came off the Trap Express, we didn't just grind to a halt - we burst into a fiery inferno. Richard Dunne and maybe Robbie Keane trapped inside...
He did have a taste for the theatrical did aul Trap.
Eamon v Liam on RTE now!
Brady doing the accounts and saying Trap brought in more money than he lost for Ireland. €8 million for the Euros, minus €2-3 million on bonuses versus his salary of around €6m (plus Denis O'Brien's contribution). So basically our attendances are higher because of Trap... would anybody like to tell the thousands who've stopped going to games? Surely Mypost isn't buying enough tickets to compensate?
the cat is in the sack, but the sack is at the bottom of the atlantic weighed down with rocks.
feeble end to an awful campaign. sweden away aside it's been disastrous. a very lucky win in kazakhstan and two wins over the faroes.
1/10.
Ah Chippy - you dont have to defend him anymore, its all over.
Dunphy talks some absolute ****e, hopefully he leaves at the end of the campaign also.
What's he saying?
Dont think Green gave McCarthy a huge help tonight in fairness, or Walters for that matter.
Incidentally the ref is the one who gave Hungarian footballer Miklos Feher a yellow card just before he collapsed and died.
he also sent off a player before he got on the pitch.
Anyone fancy offering a live update of RTE for us nordies stuck in broadcast purgatory?
Dunphy and Brady having a fist-fight while Giles snoozes languidly?
Green was better than McCarthy to be honest and a deserved man of the match I feel. Still surprised they didn't give it to Dunne though after Friday. After a shaky first 15 minutes I thought he played well in the advanced position McCarthy usually plays when Whelan is in the team. I think the new manager will drop Whelan and Green, but I can admit he was our best player from a bad bunch.
I understand we'll now slip down to our lowest ever position in the FIFA rankings. Weren't we told we were going for the victory tonight? Why, then, did it look like Forde was instructed to dilly-dally with his kick-outs?
The substitutions were just unbelievable. Pilkington was playing well when Trap decided to replace him and was still offering us something down the wing. We seemed to capitulate after he came off and once that attacking outlet was extinguished. I don't know why Walters was left on the pitch, or why he was started out there in the first place, but that's nothing new...
Austria looked absolutely woeful in the first-half but had us hanging on for dear life in the second. What remaining good will I had for Trap before this game has quickly evaporated within the last half an hour there. Fair play to Coleman for nearly risking his life for us with the two outrageous blocks! One of the few things that actually impressed me tonight, that was; what heart.
Just for the record, to qualify we need Austria to beat Sweden and then for the Faroe Islands to beat Austria whilst we beat both
Germany and Kazakhstan making up at least 8 goals, not even sure if 8 is enough, might need 9.
In other words it's not gonna happen.
Trap - Not resigning anyway - wants to stay on for the next campaign
Just completly sick of it by now. No point in making the same comments again. At least he will finally go now
I thought we were OK for 60 mins and with a bit more craft in the middle could have snuck one. Trap waited until the likes of Long, Pilkington and Walters were exhausted befor making his usual like-for-like subs. Wilson was awful for the goal.
We're heading for 14 points at best from this group. Worst in how long?
