The FAI would like to see the establishment of a Connacht Senior League as a precursor to one Galway team being entered into the LOI.
Galway United Supporters Trust would be interested in entering a team on this basis. Who are the other 13 teams ?
All the usual suspects plus galway& Sligo b or c teams plus 2 from CCFL
Enquiries are being made to gage interest. This was tried before but from what i hear things are more positive this time. If all going well could start early next September.

Reckon it'll be the usual suspects who will be fancied, till results and the draw puts the spanner in the works:
Sligo/Leitrim: City Utd, Boyle Celtic, possibly Aughanagh & St Johns
Roscommon: Can only see Ballinasloe, possibly Skyvalley
Mayo: Usual 3 or 4, Westport, Ballina, Erris, Castlebar
Galway: Athenry, Corrib rangers, Mervue
and of them Ballina v Mervue, Boyle v Skyvalley, Ballisodare v Castlebar this weekend are the stand out ties
Can see ballina beating mervue you would expect castlebar to beat ballisodare .

its hard to say as most of it is guess work, looking at the league tables, etc. dont think many of us will have seen all the contenders playing this season.
I heard Ballina were unlucky against KUFC(last seasons runners-up) in the FAI so that bodes well for them, Westport won the Mayo league last year so are obvious contenders, Castlebar are still in the FAI, interesting tie away to Ballinasloe.
City Utd and Ballinasloe are still in the FAI, City are in the 6th round, only 2 teams got out of Sligo/Leitrim/Roscommon section, City beat Skyvalley and Boyle early on. Ballinasloe beat a good Ballisodare side in round 3....Ballisodare at home to Castlebar on Sunday
In Galway, Mervue and Corrib Rangers are going well in the league and Athenry have an exceptional record int the Connacht Cup...
as i said earlier the draw will have a lot to say about it.....Ballina v Mervue, Ballisodare v Castlebar, Boyle v Skyvalley in the 3rd round means 3 of the stronger teams will go at the first hurdle.....

From what i know the draw is done but they are only going to release it round after round. So for round 4 we will know next week who got who... Thats what i have been told anyway...
