Any bookmakers around town doing odds on the leagues?
Has their been any other transfer movements?
Going to watch Granville V Lifford tonight, have watched Lifford last week good side be a good test for Granville.
"We" you must of settled in nice and quickly out there, how come you left Shannon Town?
heard they signed a keeper that wont be at all the games due to work commitments... How was pre season? will Lifford be challenging come the end of the season?
Granville are supposed to have a nice side with a few new signings, should be a good test for both sides.
That keeper is probably me...I work days and evenings but can normally get a swap for matches so i don't think is should miss many...if any at all
Pre Season is good. Really enjoying it. As for how we will do...I have no idea..I have never played Clare league so have idea of the standard. But here's hoping!!
Zizou, what did tou take from the game last night? Big imrovement from last year i thought?
But Lifford are never more than a mid table clare team , hard to judge.
What was the score in Lifford lads .. Big surprise dines b beating A team
Lifford 1-0 Granville
No question about it we are a stronger team than we were 3 months ago. We are by no means the finished article, plenty of hard work to be done yet before we start the season Thursday night.
In terms of the game, it was hot and Lifford were a decent side. We made 9 changes at half time which was always going to make it more of a training session than a real match situation. But everyone got 45mins more football under their belt, and we could have had a few goals but for fine keeping(Lev), and the Russian linesman not giving a clear goal!:) Even if I'm slighty biased..
Nice set up, and good bunch of lads Lifford. One lad in particular looked very skillful, young boy no.11. Not sure of his name, but a bag of tricks.
Friendlies Wanted
Granville Rangers A team, are after friendlies this Saturday and Monday evening, home or away. Anyone intrested let me know via P.M. before Friday evening. Cheers.
Any news on b teams in this division how will fairview balla and pike fair out ..
Well I didn't feel the need to ask as I watched them play hibs last week in Wesley Webb .. IMO they have too young a team to challenge.. Looked like they have lost more than 3-4 from last year..
its kinda strange that none of the shannon teams can hold onto last years team and then add to it, in fairness in match above alot of young lads were given there chance to impress and the still have to add a few of last years team to the squad and another 1-2 possible ex players returning
Heard weston beat granville 5-2 to night, are granville that bad this season, shocking result.
Was granvilles A team. Weston are a handy team and it's only a friendly after all. most westons team have probably played 1a at some stage. Sometimes people look way too much into what divisions clubs are in.
It was our A team. Weston are a good side, but we had an off night. Simple as that. Better now than Thursday night. We'll be set for that, which is all that matters lads. But hats off to a fine Weston side on the night.
Anyone know Is the balla B match v Shannon town A on in Bateman or shelbourne.
How are Balla B looking? has anyone seen them in pre season?
Predictions ladies and gents??
Moyross and Pike B to go first and second, Mungret to get promoted, and Fairview and Granville to get relegated
Predictions:
Thursday 16/08/12
Ballynanty B 0-3 Shannon Town
Moyross 4-0 Fairview Rgs B
Summerville Rvs 2-0 Mungret Regional
Dromore Celtic 2-2 Caherdavin Celtic
Granville Rgs 1-3 Pike Rvs B
Tough to pick favourites for promotion this year. Last year Geraldines were hot favourites from the start and went on to stroll it. Can't see that happening this season but I would expect Summerville to finish in the top 3. After that I haven't a clue...
So what way are Shannon and Fairview looking this year ? Shannon were quite strong last year, Fairview were good at the start but kind of fell off near the end
lads cant see anyone running away with this league will be very tight, league wont take shape till after 5 or 6 games
Best of luck to all teams boys.. Here's hoping its gets off and running tommorro evening with the weather the way it is it's lookin like effecting plenty of games.. Anyway here's to an exciting injury free season for everyone..
