I would go along with that although i think Granville will put up a good fight especially if there home pitch is playable ..If they play it in the Pike or The Fairgreen the could be over ran

Agree about Granville Clownboy. Think that they will put it up to WC but at the end of the day I would think the the visitors will have too much for them. I am sure they would swap defeat on Sunday for promotion if you offered it to them today!!!!
I hope that we have all 5 teams through to the last 16 but I think that we will have a couple of "fallers" in this round. I look forward to being proven wrong!!
Come on the Waterford Boys
Anything can happen in cup football - so come on Diceys
This Pike v Ballymun saga looks set to roll on and on and on I'm afraid.
Ballymun have their appeal to be heard by the FAI Senior Council next week, so that rules out any game this weekend. They have further indicated that should this appeal fail, they will then go to arbitration, which will take more time, and then onto court if necessary, no matter what the cost.
You're looking at the bones of a month to resolve this unless something gets done urgently.
I agree , I would say the Park lads are not relishing a trip that far up country!Your lads will have a chance. Will the game go ahead up there? How hard did the weather hit you guys up there , I heard it was pretty bad!Quote:

What exactly are the details of Ballymuns appeal/objections???Quote:

Grey area really, one I don't know too much about.
The League was due to restart this weekend but I think there might be a blanket ban as the weather has been terrible up here. The forecast is not too good but their pitch should be ok.
I went into Diceys for a pint last night and there was some of the team there. They were ment to go training last night but only 5 turned up - not a good omen. They reckon they will be up for it but I dont know will it be enough. They have a poster up advertising the after match reception - Sunday and Monday - so win or lose they will have a good time.
Markvcw Celtic were knocked out in the last 64 last weekend. Then there were 6 Poacher!!!
Killester seem to be the dark horses. Have the record of winning trophies in the capital but not a lot thought of them on this site!!!
Hopefully come Monday we will be talking about 4 great wins for local teams!
Anyone have the betting on the competition?? Who do the bookies consider the favs????
I have to agree with Samuel, I feel the cup is coming back shannonside again!! Also agreeing with the supersub I feel a good hard working team like carew or park will go along way. The fai this year is set up for this type of team and from what iv seen of both teams they are both well capable of playing the best teams on a one off occasion. There trouble over the last few seasons has been consistency. Im not a Park Rangers supporter but they have some players that are quality and dont even get noticed when it comes to picking the all star ?? limerick oscar team.
it is a joke that this diceys team have got so far i hope they get hockeyed about 9-0
Believe it or not my friend ,that's what makes Cup football - the underdog.
No matter what sport it is,your heart wants the underdog to win but your head says different. No matter how bad Diceys are, I don't think they will lose 9-0 - Maybe this is the year of the underdog, if not Diceys maybe one of the other unfancied teams.People should get behind teams like Diceys and encourage them , not take the **** of them.
Park are through to the next round - they won 3-1.Diceys were 3-0 down after 15-20 mins - they were missing 2 of their best players and brought in 2 new lads. They dropped one of their centre halves and played a lad that was carrying an injury who only lasted 15 mins.Once the original back four was together - they played a lot better.Park's no 10 scored 2 bullets.Park also missed a penalty.Diceys got one back before half time and that's the way it ended. With 15 mins to go diceys had a free off the crossbar with the keeper beaten - if that had gone in, diceys might have got another.
Overall, Park were a well organised team, and obviously the standard is a lot higher in Limerick than in Sligo.
You must remember the difference in divisions between both teams.Diceys were missing a leader on the pitch and also somebody on the line to organise things.
Will park win the Cup - I personally dont think so, they reckon they are quietly confident of lifting the trophey but They didn't kill the game today.
They are avery nice bunch of lads - I went back to Diceys after the game for a pint and they did the Limerick League Proud.
Overall they are a nice bunch of lads but I don't think they will be lifting the Junior Cup this Year.
As for Diceys, they are still on the beer.
Waterford Crystal are through to the last 16, they beat Granville on penalties, 2-2 after et

According to ballymuns guestbook:
Killester, Ballynanty and the winner of Pike/Ballymun/Bath are 7/2 joint favourites.
Anybody any idae when the draw for the next round is taking place
waterford crystal are bound to be amongst the favourites too although they struggled to get over granville yesterday only coming through on pens, but they are still there and they have to be fairly handy to have beaten carrick, and as we all know its "all on the day"
Draw is on next Friday night 21st of Feb in the Aisling hotel.....Quote:

I believe the draw takes place this wednesday.
All teams left at this stage are obviously well able to play ball. I have seen a few different teams so far and from what I have seen of whats left, I dont think the winner is going to be a real good footballing team as there are a lot of average but well organised teams left who can beat anyone on their day. I fancy Carew or Park Rangers to cause a few shocks yet
i agree and disagree guv, carew park could do serious damage but i cant see park going too far if the meet a quality side
I agree but I know this Park side and have seen them regularly and there trouble has been so called lesser teams. They have always struggled against teams in the league who are struggling at the bottom and at the same time the do very well against the big guns. I just think that if they got a home draw against any team they would go places. I heard the were on fire in the first half yesterday and then once again struggled against a so called lesser team when they were under some pressure.
ballananty beat castlebar celtic 3-1. westport united beat leeside 3-1.rosegreen rangers 2-1 dublin bus.st.cormack 0-1 killester, trim celtic 5-4 baldoyle. bellurgan 1-0 oldbridge, VEC 2-1 Maymount celtic
there are three galway league teams left in the last sixteen galway hibs, salthill devon and west utd,the cup could be going shannonside allright just a little west of it.
Tramore of the waterford are also a good junior side managed by alfie hale they have a couple of experienced ex waterford utd players.
EVERGEEN of kilkenny are a strong side having just come back from intermediate football. so there's no sure thing that the cup is going to stay in limerick
Alfie Hale no longer manages Tramore but is still involved with the club, they are now managed by Richie Power who is also an ex Waterford United Manager. Tramore themselves will be no push over they have a mix of some good experienced players as well as youth in their sideQuote:

Salthill Devon (Galway United Juniors :) ) are playing very well and are in with a bit of a chance.
But, I really fancy Galway Hibernians to do very well. A lot of ex-GUFC players in Tony Folan, Ollie Keogh, Rodney Grant etc... mixed with experienced players in Galway Junior terms in John Walsh, Anthony Kelly and Mark McPhilbin have potential to win the competition.
All weekend Junior Cup Results can be found on www.fai.ie
Cant agree with you inexile.Carew are not a better side than Park.I believe that Park would come out on top more often than not when the sides would meet.Quote:

Hope I am wrong though!!!
I agree supersub, I also seen Balla against Michaels and nothing really to note from that game but the strength of the wind!! There are teams left who are there for the taking and would I have to agree that on seeing whats left I feel the cup will be going outside of limerick
Are the two waterford teams any good
Know waterford crystal are usually good
what are they like this term and havent heard anything of tramore
Killester for me ...motoring along nicely ...I also think Balla have a great chance ..Playing Poorly and winning is a good sign
I agree about killester but dont know if Balla will win it. I know there playing badly and winning but how long can that last for? Seen them earlier on in the season and they were poor and again lately. Dont get me wrong it would be super for balla to win it but improvement needed.
With a bit of luck, Pike can win it, and easily offer Limericks best chance of keeping the trophy. They are very consistent, are not conceding many goals (only 5 in the premier div at home, none at all to date in the FAI), and have a decent goalscorer in Martin O'Neill.Their lack of strength in depth could bite them later in the competition, but thats where the little bit of luck I was talking about earlier comes in to play. If they stay injury free, then I think thay'll go all the way.
Like i said earlier home draw is half the battle.
Any of the limerick teams, especially pike and balla are gonna be hard to beat on home turf.
And apparantely it takes a very good team to go to killester and win.

Anyone know when Rd 7 is due to be played???????
I think its Feb 5/6 but need confirmation if anyone has it.
