I was going to say 15/8 Shels but this weeks game will be on a level playing pitch.

I was going to say 15/8 Shels but this weeks game will be on a level playing pitch.
Bray at 4/5 tonight could be money well spent. We're playing our under 19s as far as I know and they've been struggling in their league.

Hint & clue's welcome, bad week at chelt so far :shut:
We are an even bigger price than we were at home to Sligo which is a bit odd considering Sligo are obviously more of a contender than Derry (indicated in their own outright odds) and our results in the 180 minutes that followed.
Harps, Longford, Shelbourne, Limerick. 5 euro returns you almost 127 quid. I'll have some of that please.
unless we have learned to defend since last week I'd be lumping on Shamrock at 3/4
Bray at 4/1 looks good value to me. UCD have started well but this is they kind of game I can see them slipping up in.
I done:
Cork Draw
Derry City
UCD
Drogheda
Harps
Longford
3.75 returns 510 :O
Drogs look a decent bet alright. Not sure if I'll back anything but I'd be looking at Drogs, Pats, "Shams", and maybe Harps and Longford.
Lump on Rovers. They'll stroll through our midfield and based on last weeks defensive performance we won't hold out long!
Glad I forgot to go make that bet today..

Drogs, Athlone, Shels/Rovers draw - a fiver treble earns €135 with PP.
Not out of the realms of possibility either.
Cork are a huge price considering Derry don't have Patterson this weekend. A few quid on a draw in that one too at 12/5 is tempting.
Pats look a very decent bet if you put them in a double or treble. UCD possibly too. I reckon LTFC-Waterford could be a draw.
Daryl Horgan is 50-1 to score first tonight. According to Ladbrokes odds, he's the least likely player, bar the goalies, to score......including half our subs.
Throwing a couple of euro on that
I think I saw somewhere that Horgan was a doubt for the game so that might be it. Hope he is match fit though, based on last week's game himself and Murray will probably be the two most important players for the club this season.
He started anyway.
Horgan off the bar :(

Any tips? :D
I'm never looking near bookies again after passing up the opportunity to back Harps at 25/1 last week to beat Waterford 2-0.
Wexford and Mervue are the serious value bets, I'll def be putting something on those 2 for wins.
Longford are huge at 7/2
Even huger at 13/1 to win 1-0
Cork City at 17/10 looks generous - though we have been poor

if anyone took that bet its beginning to look a decent shout. Yeah I know we could well lose the next few and feck it all the good work away, but I wish I put a tenner on it now!
For those who don't follow, longford were 9-1 at the beginning of the season. The new odds are probably about on the money, not a snowballs it will be anyone but us or Lims top by the end, wexford are doing very well but I doubt they'll be able to keep it up all season, and the same can probably be said for us but who knows!
Any opinions on the Galway el Classico tonight?
I have seen neither team play this season but have been reading match reports and it seems that Salthill have been much better.
Even when gaining a point versus inconsistent Waterford last week, Mervue never really seemed like troubling them.
I'd have Salthill favourites at what is essentially a neutral venue but Mervue have been backed in massively.
A lot of the money behind the price moves in the LOI comes from outside of Ireland from gamblers who bet based on the limited knowledge available to them.
I'm guessing the money is coming based on the news of 3 Salthill suspensions and 2 players who played for Ireland schools in Wales last night.
However Mervue also have injuries and suspensions.
Salthill are approaching 3/1 on betfair now which seems madness to me.

Fully agree with your analysis, which unfortunately probably means you're wrong :)
Athlone look decent odds to win against a very flaky Waterford side as well.
Thanks Mr A :)
I've already backed Salthill and Salthill DNB at lower odds, trying to resist the urge to bet more!
Tempted to go with UCD DNB against Bohs. Not sure why a team that has scored 1 goal in 6 league games are favourities in an away game.
I cant see anything other than a mervue win tonight eL Bettor.
Any reason Terry?
Week 8 PD odds from William Hill:
Are Bray really a 9/1 shot against Rovers? Jason Byrne's been knocking a few in for them, clearly going to be up against it but price does seem high. I won't be first in line to back them mind :DQuote:
Bray v Shamrock Rovers

Draw: 4/1
Away:1/4
St Patricks v UCD
Home: 4/11
Draw: 10/3

Cork City v Sligo Rovers
Home: 5/1
Draw: 12/5
Away:4/7
Derry v Dundalk

Away:6/1
Drogheda v Shelbourne

Bohemians v Monaghan
Home: 8/13
Draw: 5/2
Away: 4/1
odds on Bohs win look iffy as well. Mons 4/1 to win or 5/2 draw not the worst bet (expect Roddy will have them well up for it on his latest return to Dalymount, especially after Cork result).
In the past shams often struggled at bray so odds seem generous , especially 4/1 draw :o
Cork to beat Sligo at 5/1 has to be very very tempting.
Yeah I think that is a big price, I also think we are overpriced away to Drogs.
