Cannot wait to play Lisnagry....
Shannon Town 1 Parkville 0
Coonagh 4-4 Ballylanders
Was probably a fair result as the two teams where pretty evenly matched. The referee ruined what would have been an even better game. Seems to be a common trait with him. Very disrespectful towards the players and supporters also. I understand having to respect the ref but that works both ways.
Lisnagry vs Coonagh off
We where asked to switch it to our place but said no because we had matches last weekend on it and if we had a load more on it this weekend it would be wrecked so we said at this late stage (Friday) that with it being down in the paper for Lisnagry that we would let the ref decide on Sunday. Got a phone call later to tell us it was off. Amazing that because a few times last year we tried to get matches off early but where told it was the refs decision not ours and we had to pay the refs half fee on the day even though we told them well in advance the pitch was un playable.
shocking but no surprise ,,, you should get your secetary to contact fixture secetary in league and ask for an explanation as to how a game can be called off on a friday ?? yeah a lot of clubs have been told the same thing that it was down to referee's decision on day of game ... but i suppose it helps to get games of if you have somebody in your club involved with league..
It was the fixture secretary that got it called off. He rang and told our vice chairman and he rang to tell us. Well if anyone has trouble getting a game off early this season because of an unplayable pitch their first question should be then why did you call lisnagrys off early. I don't mind games being called off early, I actually prefer it but at least keep the rules the same for everyone.
agree with you rules should be the same for every team.. just wonder how many games will get called off tomorrow with all the rain in last few days and i'm sure a few could have been called off today to save teams travelling..on another note fixture secretary should only be contacting your secretary as offical contact ,because as far as i know if clubs want to contact league wriiten or verbal it must be done by club secretary or else league wont entertain you. as i already says it helps your club if you have somebody on league committee
Clubs looking for Free Weekends should contact fixture secretary,
Michael O' Regan,
Ballinacourty Lisnagry
Last week we were told that he could not ask Ballylanders to travel in to us for a morning match cause it was too far, we should have been playing them in the morning(our home matches down for morning), interesting to see what time they will be travelling in to Lisnagry.
Glenview v Aisling off pitch waterlogged, would of being nice to know before turning up............
ballylanders vs newport abandoned at half time due to pitch conditions .
On the way to match a family of ducks were packing up and migrating to a country with a
better climate .
Come on LDMC Lets not make people travel when its obvious pitches not playable .
LDMC report card ---- needs improvement !!
once again we are on regular turf with the fix sec.matchs that could have been called off sat were not at the insistence that refs must do so on sun.old git is correct in saying that the FS will only take calls from a club sec.this latest episode regarding lisnagry just adds fuel to a very corrupt fire.
a bit of common sense would be a bonus if it keeps raining the rest of this week the league should do the decent thing and call off all games early , what about the clubs who are doing their best to improve pitchs putting hard earned money into pitches and then they have no say on a match being played and have to stand by and wait for a referee to deceide if he wants to play game and possible wreck pitch for a couple of weeks.
Fixture sec at it again, our first round of fixtures should end with an away match to Lisnagry which he had fixed for last week before he rang Friday to change it to Coonagh, Coonaghs pitch was unplayable so the match was off, this week he has fixed it for Coonagh instead of Lisnagry, fine if it was a cup match but its a league match, after this match Lisnagry will have played three home and six away matches, now someone tell me who is he looking after and who he is screwing, i know we are not the only club this is happening too but its very annoying cause there is nobody in LDMC to challange his decisions and you are wasting your time making a phone call to him
That match should be on in Lisnagry, it's a joke that he can switch them what ever way suits him. As mentioned all other teams had to travel to their games and pay the referees fees last week barr Lisnagry.
The Coonagh vs Lisnagry match will have to go back to its original fixture out in Lisnagry. Our B team haven't played in over 3 weeks and are down to play at 2:00 at home Sunday. If the A team play on Sunday morning in Coonagh ( which by right they are not due to) then the pitch will not be playable by the afternoon and if it is it will be destroyed by the end of the B match.
lisnagry try'd to arrange the aisling astro last week at there expense but aisling had a match on it and offered kilonen and when this was put to coonagh tey refused stating it would be unfair and from what i heard ye wer missing 4 regular players and thats the real reason ye refused to play it there
We where told nothing about aislings Astro or kilonan. I don't think there would have been any problem with us playing in kilonan as its a better pitch than ye're one. We where asked to play in our place and we said no and to leave it up to the ref as it is normally supposed to be done. We where missing 1 player last week and we had 2 players that could also fill that position so whoever said we where missing 4 is lying.
The match is originally down for Lisnagry and that's the way it should stay, it's not a cup match, the fixture dosen't change due to an unplayable pitch one week. Now we are down to play two games on our pitch Sunday + the schoolboy games Saturday. It is going to destroy our pitch or more than likey mean our b match will have to be called off and another week with no game for them.
At the end of the day the game was originally fixed for Lisnagry and should stay that way. Don't see why Lisnagry are trying not to play it out there this week, especially when ye're b team are also away from home.
Dont know where you got that story from but this is what happened;
we were rang on Friday morning to tell us Lisnagry pitch was unplayable due to all the underage matches the previous week, he told us the match would be transfered to Coonagh, the vice chairman went out to look at our pitch and after our match against Ballylanders the pitch was cut up badly and would need the week to repair itself and this was told to the fixture sec, he(M O'R) then said he would try arrange another pitch and would ring later, he rang later and told us the match is off, at no stage were we asked to play in Kilonan because we wanted the match to go ahead on any ground available, as for four players missing thats rubbish too, we had one player out that weekend and for another five weeks after too and with a panel of 24 it would have made no difference, If Coonagh had use of two pitches there would be no problems but only use of one pitch(which took 2 years to fix) make things tight when we have four matches a weekend(inc schoolboys).
If the fixture sec arranges a match for Kilonan we dont have a choice we cant refuse to play so i dont know who told you that but they are wrong.
The match will go ahead at Coonagh on Sunday so end of story and may the best team win
I would disagree there was any dodgy deal in getting the Lisnagry Coonagh match called off. Lisnagrys pitch was apparently a mud bath, Coonaghs would have been ruined had it been played there.
The fact that there was a world cup final and the Lisnagry keeper is a Kiwi had no bearing at all....
COONAGH 0 5 LISNAGRY
big win for Lisnagry in this top of the table clash, a tight first half saw Lisnagry lead by one at half time, a strong first twenty minutes of the second half by Coonagh was all for
nothing when we gifted their centre foward the second and after this Lisnagry never looked in danger and went on to win handy
Aisling 1 Shannon Town 4
newport won 5 3 against st pauls. scorers: brian o sullivan 2 pens, chris carroll 2, rob ryan. great comeback for us after been 3 1 down. any other results from today?
Can anybody tell me what part of Limerick St Paul's are based in?
Behind Raheen food store
I see Lisnagry is down for a home game this WE. I guess they're not saving them all for end of season then. It'll prob be called of anyway due to their ground being a bog...
