The Connery story is old news now, has been posted three times already. The dogs in the Tipperary streets are barking about it. Some deal for a lad who never established a permanent place with St.Michaels but fair dues to him.

Well he's from Carew park and played with them for years, they will be well chuffed I'd say, kilmallocks loss carews gain, will he take a few with him? i wonder.kilmallock can't really afford to lose any players.and if they do they'll probably have to go back to the gaa players,
Happy meal my backside the boy showed his offer in writing but look that's his and pike s own business to deny it well that s the joke I think no-nonsense is right johnny Connery was a squad player decent but nit first choice I would say saints are not worried it's not jimmy carr Ritchie ryan or any if the good young players they have
I hear Mark Heffernan and his brother John and Marty Foley are jumping ship from Kilmallock to Charleville.
make your mind up you have slagged him off in a lot of your posts go back and read them?? He is a great player and if he was playing junior he would be best in town..Limerick have had so many false dawns in the last 15-20 years and it's going to take time to get the people of Limerick to believe in senior soccer in this town and credit to pat o Sullivan he is an inspiration to everyone and is winning that battle it's going to take time but if you had a team with a fair sprinkling of local talent and playing attractive football not the s*#T scully is encouraging with 5 at the back at home and allways falling flat against the so called bigger teams for the past two seasons with his massive budget I think people would come and support the club.. I know I would and I would encourage my mates to aswell but unfortunately everytime a crowd came to jackman past two seasons they havnt seen anything to encourage them to come back.. Do you agree??
He didnt start munster junior you quoted 3 games I am basing my opinion on the whole season where he didn't establish himself on the 1 st eleven foggy had work commitments towards end of seasons so that worked against him , I'm not saying John was a poor player his decent player/ fella but he was not an automatic choice and I think he will do fine for pike and best of luck to both parties
100% agree with that ya.
And you must have went back an awful long way to find me slagging off Shane.
I never said he was a bad player i said he was playing crap last year because he was playing crap last year which was frustrating because i know how good he is.
The 5 at the back happened once ever since Pat is in charge and he does play some nice football at times but nice football doesnt get you out of the 1st division. Id rather get out of the 1st then play nice football.
Id love to see locals in as much as anybody but if they are not good enough then what would the point be?
We do have that. 6 players where in the squad last night against Wexford and thats without Sheedy who was in the squad the last two games and Shane Tracey who is still out injured it seems and Gary Sheehan. There is also Calla who sadly will miss the rest of the season with an injury. Thats 9 locals signed for the first team alone. Not to mention the lads who are in the A and U19 teams.
Some of the football is ****e but I remember when Limerick where playing good football and not getting results people said they wouldn't go to matches because Limerick where always losing. Then when it was all local players they wouldn't go because the players signed where useless, then it was 12 euro was a rip off for games, then a 10 was a rip off, sometimes it was the weather and also there was some of the older heads that said they wouldn't watch Limerick outside the Markets Field. Now its there isn't enough local players and the football is ****e even though we are getting results. Its hard to win when there is always and excuse from somewhere.
Promotion is all that matters. The type of football for now is not.
I agree though some of Scullys tactics have been terrible i.e the 5 at the back but it seems a crowd only come up for the big games against the top teams and then are surprised when we lose to the best teams in the league, with a rake of injuries I might add. We where comfortable against a lot of teams this season as well. The extra quality has been brought in now with Gamble so I expect us to pick up better results against the top teams when we have a full starting 11 and not having to chop and change most weeks.
Kuafc if the chairman/manager had backed Pa last year he'd be still there and if you're a player with the A team you would know that as well.he got no help whatsoever off him.
Well said,it's a typical Limerick thing, lots of followers (when things are going well) but less real supporters.Take the Munster rugby thing as an example - 12,000 at the semi's of the magners but a full 26k at the final. You are either a soccer supporter or not.Fellas would go to Engalnd and pay 1,000 euros to watch a premiership game and god knows that could be crap with very little"locals" in the squad and won't complain. At the Pike field it's 3 or 5 euro to watch Pike stuffing some team.Is that value for money? We'll see will the guys who said they would never support senior soccer since they left markets field turn up next season. If Limerick ever got to an FAI senior cup final I bet they'd all want to be part of it.Stop criticising the players who you don't even go to watch, local or not go and support your home town senior club.
No im not a player but do go and watch the lads most weeks.. I never said he had the backing of the club, just cant see him been kept for too long, thats just my opinion. I hope he proves me wrong next year because i do get on with pa but cant see it happening.. Will have a good squad of players though..
so what your saying is all the players playing league of Ireland are no good because they are not in england?? you must be some player and achieved a he'll of a lot in the game..do you understand how hard it is to make it as a young lad in england? to be spotted and given a contract is a huge achievement in itself..they are both young players very very good young players and anyone that thinks differently hasn't a clue!!
Well said monster,two excellent players,
Didn't realise pike paying players was such a touchy subject to some but at end of day it's their own business I would say other clubs wish they had that clout to get players it's going on along time now clubs in Limerick must be used to it I remember Michael grace about 20 yrs ago gettin a good deal as well and the johnny c thing has got a lot of us out in co tipp talking
I know its very hard, but a very good player would be over there playing wouldnt he?? these boys are mediocre players im saying. There good playing amateur but in my opinion there not good enough for LOI and no there is some very good players playing in League of Ireland and some are good enough for England but fellas like boywonder saying fellas are excellent players when in fact there only mediocre annoys me.
No im not some amazing player im giving an opinion, can only brilliant players come on this site and give their opinions or something?
You obviously haven't see Pa mullins playing, best centre half in the country by mile, that's why Limerick were trying to sign him.
....Pa is very very good.
But best centre half in the country he wouldnt even be the best on the Limerick team.
And before you say it Limerick were trying to sign him to partyner Paddy Purcell who is a far better centre half.
Edit:Complete bull is a bit far but you are exaggerating a bit.
Take the blinkers off will you? If he was the best in the country he would have been playing for his country in the recent international which Ireland won.No doubting he is one of the better defenders in the country at junior level and has great potential to become a top top defender maybe at senior level. That's where good players are tested.Go and watch Paddy Purcell playing someday,by far the best defender in the LOI first division.I think Pa's height may be an obstacle if he was to go up a level.
