Stadium is seriously empty
Only Duffer singing the national Anthem (Given pretending to) :(
If the stadium was in any other county you would get more people then this.
The Dubs and surrounding counties citizens are awful supporters considering how low the crowds have been the past year(and the high population of the area).
If i just had to pay the cost of a ticket I'd be there every game, must more costs involved travelling from Munster or Connacht.
Im sure this is just brain fade but who is Kelly on the bench?
edit: Doh of course its Stephen kelly, the minute I posted.....
Stephen.
Matthew - used to do Going for Gold
Haha Matthew was the going for molestation one.
glad to see the people of Ireland boycotting this game as a show of solidarity with Limerick FC over the Barcelona fiasco
We are horribly boring to watch
i just particularly love waving at cameras.Quote:
the heat is on, the time is right, its time for you, for you to play the game...
Much more interesting game than this one.
This game might make me switch over to Michael Martin v Eamon Gilmore on TV3. It's that bad.
entertaining stuff..trapattoni ur such a lej man
Yep - two full houses in Thomond a couple of years back.
Coleman and Clark have both looked good so far, although Coleman does seem a bit over-eager to play the ball into the box instead of waiting for more options. The luckiest man in Ireland has also gotten away with his usual penalty-box indiscretion too.
who does coleman remind me off? a bit like SWP when he was good at man city first time round...not exactly skillful but fast and enthusiastic
*not based on this game just in general
I've got no leave left so couldn't make the game. I'm glad I didn't fork out 200 plus to go over now! Duffer our only threat.
Poor fare again. Whelan offering nothing and Gibson not much better. Doyle and Duff (our best players)having to come back to pick up the ball due to lack of service. Whelan is way off the pace should not be anywhere near the starting 11. And Wales have cut through the center way too easily a couple or times. Given one terrible kick out and still dropping the ball when making saves. Great to see Duff back and he has been badly missed.
so many shocking players in the team....the next manager just has to forget about the hacks like whelan and andrews and paul green...squad players at best hopefully
Is ths the most uninspiring friendly we've ever played? I'm thinking of our 0-0 with Wales in 1997, the defeat to Northern Ireland in 1999, and our 0-0 with Poland in 2004. If the second half is anything like the first, I think we may have a new winner.
how many ppl are gonna go watch these 2 nobody teams tommorow?
p.s i think its weird how its taken ppl so long 2 realise how bad players like glenn whelan are.....most of the players trap has capped are just terrible footballers....whelan isnt the worst for that ur lookin at paul green/keith andrews..hopeless hopeless players
2nd half seems a bit better
Looks like Henry and Matthew Kelly has been send on
James McCarthy tried to take part and Trap had him thrown out of the stadium.
At least the Guardian seem to be enjoying it:

These squads have been hit by more withdrawals than an ATM at a hackers' convention but tonight's match still contains more intrigue than, um, a hackers' convention. How will Wales play under new manager Gary Speed? Will Irish debutants Séamus Coleman and Ciarán Clark pull of the delicate trick of being skilful enough to impress Giovanni Trapattoni but not so skilful as to make him suspicious and resentful?

To really stoke excitement, organisers have decided to spread the tournament out over several months. Get your diaries out and prepare to cancel that massage appointment if need be...

: Out toddle the teams. Owing to the FAI's extravagant pricing policy most seats are empty. Well done lads.

The Welsh tune is followed by a perkier-than-usual blast of Amhrán na bhFiann. The tens of people who know all of the words croon along.

Let us pause to catch our breath. Or, to be more precise, get reanimated. For this is a slow burner. Or maybe just a flaming waste of time.

For some reason this match has got me thinking about my own bleakest experience on a pitch.
Sccreamer!!
Get in.
Glad I managed to stay awake for that.
football can be so beutiful....but when two horrible teams go face to face it really can be so ugly....i guess its teams like this that make us appreciate the likes of barcelona and even blackpool all the more....so in a lot of ways these 2 teams crapness is for the good of the game
and then gibson scores with a thing of beuty....got 2 love football
He's got a foot like a traction engine.
Great goal.
Is he the first guy to score for Ireland whose first name ends with the last two letters of his last name?
Just asking like.
Duffer.
GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL DUFF 5 yrs without a goal for ireland :O no way
Our world class credentials are finally telling in this game.
Is this tthe first 2 goal lead we've had under Trap?
