''Steve at Sky Bet: With Wayne Bridge set to join West Ham, we have also seen some money for Robbie Keane to make the switch to Upton Park. The striker is now 2/1 to join Avram Grant's side and 5/2 to join Birmingham.''

Played for us at u19 level in 2009 I think. Checked out a Barnsley forum. Some think he wasn't given a chance, others think he wasn't up to it. Seems he was poor for their reserves all season this year. Maybe he will get a chance in League 2 or even a lower level SPL team or something.
Michael Lee of Longford Town is on trial with Carlisle United, played 60 minutes against Rangers. I guess he's a left back.
Daily Mail - Glenn Whelan being looked at by Wolves and WBA.
Believe Ronan Finn and Sean Williams have been on trial up at Celtic. Some Division 1 teams in England also interested.
Are they going to declare for Ireland if they make Celtic?! :-Q
The Irish Times reporting this morning that Stoke have received an offer from a Premier club for Glenn Whelan. One would imagine it would be a mid-lower range club, WBA and Wolves are both reported to have been interested, also think he might suit Wigan.
Either way, hopefully the move is completed and he starts getting some gametime.
He was pretty effective for Stoke last season, and they simply upgraded on him this year, complimented by an injury that he had that stunted his pre-season and meant he was out of the side anyway.
Just looking at Wolves, I know Karl Henry is the main man in the middle for them (captain too I think) and that Foley has played there a little bit, but after that I'm not sure who they have. So it would be a good shout for Glenn if they were interested.
Always feel he gets a bit of a raw deal from some on here. He's far Cesc Fabregas, but as a player that keeps the ball moving and involving those around him he's very capable. It's for that reason I could understand Di Matteo being interested and Martinez as they like their players to get the ball moving on the deck.
Dave Jones would be Wolves' version of Whelan - solid, hard-working, free-kick specialist. He's injured at the moment and has declined to sign a new contract so could be off in the summer.
I hope Whelan finds a club soon. I was looking at a Stoke forum recently and was surprised to learn that Stoke don't have a reserve team at the moment, and a quick google shows that they withdrew from the Premier Reserve League. It shows why Glenn has been so rusty for Stoke - no games whatsoever.
The (more sensible) fans on there seem to think Glenn's had his time at the club, but commend him for what he's contributed. They think he's a tidy, hard-working player who'd be better suited to a team who allows him to get on the ball more.
Marc Tierney apparently close to signing with Norwich, who are third in the Championship

More cover at full back, I suppose, at least if he succeeds there.
Looking more like Whelan will go to Wolves.

who? Spit it out.
I wouldn't ask you to name names, but, are these two players with Premiership clubs?
skstu i thought charlie darwin and central midfielder too and a combination of striker forward.
great minds... ;)
I have been advised to make no comment on this matter.
yeah, i dont see why not. Its not libellous and, unless you were told by the players in question, in confidence, then you have nothing to worry about.
Today's rumours from the rags - Robbie to West Ham, Noel Hunt to Celtic for 500,000 stg and potential recruit Adam Hammill to Wolves, Blackpool or Forest.
Judge signs for Notts County. Disappointing to see a player that had his potential drop down to League One.

Motherwell and Stuart McCall are interested in Donal McDermott(Man City)

Here's the report from the Rochdale game mentioned in that article: http://mcfc.co.uk/News/Match-reports...hdale-reserves
McDermott was involved in the opening goal
Quote:
The lively Donal McDermott found space on the left to cross for Guidetti whose header struck the bar, but the rebound fell kindly for Nimely who was on hand to tap home.
From Sky Sports : West Ham boss Avram Grant has confirmed that he is interested in bringing Tottenham striker Robbie Keane to Upton Park. Spurs boss Harry Redknapp will not let Keane leave on loan, so a £5million deal could be on the cards.
That was old hat
