Normally there's some sort of minor pay off - like €5-10,000 for the release, kind of to cover the cost of wages already paid, this comes from the new club. He only went to Galway after Cork collapsed and after he wasn't offered terms in Malta, so in fairness he wasn't given much in the way of long term stability. Cracking player and good luck to him.
