A diversionary tactic - from what? Have the revenue issued a winding up order? The money had to be paid by last Friday according to the Daily Mail, even though it was cleared a few weeks before then:rolleyes:
It was a bull**** article, the lack of a revenue winding up order proves that. Several Drogs were on here immediately confirming it was false. Everyone else seems to be of the opinion that there was no substance in the story, yet me pointing out that you claim to know more about our club finances (after a bull**** story appears in the paper) than what goes on at your own club is a tactic to divert away from the fact that the revenue are winding us up.
Sweet God, I don't care what you believe, say it as often as you want, it still won't make it true.

The only real issue people are now querying is citizen smith's post on the Drogheda forum where he accepted that a balance of E50k was due, but that it had recently been paid. The questions then are - is he correct in what he says (and he puts himself about as one with the inside track, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's correct) and if he is correct, is it a concern that Drogheda built up a tax arrears of E50k less than a year after coming out of examinership? In addition, if citizen smith's post is correct, then it means that the newspaper article has some basis.

Yeah I think we have a few more members /subscritpions (some -people have 2) so its around 270 (ish) but still far short of the (IMO) impossible figure of 500 members by Christmas 09. So thats a shortfall of lets say you 60K. Then I am sure that other bills have been identified over Christams as they new guys are getting to grips with the reality and lets assume that the 40k which would bring it up to 100K additonal needed for 2010 in fundraising.
In terms of the players clearly ordinary supporters dont know the details so we cant communicate it, but all I can communciate is that Roisin and Phillip are doing a great job and I seriously doubt they are spending cash we havent budgetted for. The rumour is that Connelly went because they wouldn't increase the budget (now thats the story I heard, nothing more than that).
We have extremely dedicated people now involved who were brought to the fore through their fight to save the club in examinership, no better guardians of the purse strings and may I say without trying to be sexist, I am glad we have a women involved as I think when it comes to football men can be blinded from reality and this explains some of the difficulty of clubs and overspending.
Up sh*t creek again according to local radio....may not even get 1st division licence according to some reports.

They probably gave Alan Mathews a budget to spend, which he was doing then the FAI wouldn't pass it. There's also something on the Drogs board about the FAI seeking a guarantee from the directors of any possible losses. As far as I know every club has had to give this but it seems to be causing a particular problem for Drogs.
