Speaking from a personal opinion I have never been particularly excited by the brand of football his teams play. It was probably no coincidence that Stuart Malcolm had arguably his two best games for Finn Harps against Scully's Shamrock Rovers team and Paul Doolin's Drogheda side. Given that Malcolm was hopeless on the deck but would have headed a meteorite it appears both managers' focus on the long ball played into Malcolm's hands!
I appreciate that the players in the League of Ireland may not share the technique of their Brazilian counterparts but I still think managers should encourage a game plan based on passing and off the ball movement rather than aimless hoofing.
