Hey lads. I'm thinking of coming up to see your training session tomorrow just to see what sort of squad you are putting together. Is it true that its on from 12-3 at Flancare?
I am just posting up the latest update from the town PRO text he sent me: Training is at 11 to 1 tomorrow.
I also saw on Sligo Rovers forum here that Jay McCartney is training with them.

Im delighted to announce Chris Turner is training in Strandhill with Rvs this morning. Along with Jay McCartney and a new striker from Liverpool. No Butler or Ryan... About 15 training in total. Training very hard in bad conditions but great facilities at Strand Celtics ground!

How did it go, inspector Marty?
there were 17 players training today in thick fog.. There were a few trialists there -some ex shels player from mountmellick and a craig someone who plays for the Ireland University side..Mick Lee would have being training only that he was sick... Justin Perrin from the under 20s was there too..
the players who have gone to other clubs are Jay McCartney to Sligo Rovers and Liam Lynch to Ballinsloe Town. The only players from last seasons squad were Aaron Shanahan, Daisy and Kevin Cronin.. We look like a much taller squad than last season..
I spoke to Philip Coffey and he told me the only friendly planned is against Shamrock Rovers in Flansiro.. We also spoke to the new goalkeeper coach ( Dont know his name) but he was involved with Shamrock Rovers last season on their backroom staff. He was ravin about young Conlon challenging Shanahan for the number one spot for next season... Any Shamrock Rovers know who he is as he knows the new goalie..
Joe Donohue he was part of Andy Mylers A championship staff, he is in the link below but no info on him

yeah feb 2nd in flancare at eight.. we are also playing cork and ucd but I am not sure yet whether it is home or away..
We also seem to have signed a John Paul McDonagh from Newbridge town..
read the supporters club notes here...

When it says we will be entertaining cork and ucd i would imagine we are at home!
We seem to be playing all big teams so!
heard the cork game might be in doubt because the leinster senior cup is back this year afrter bout 8 years off, we were drawn against sporting fingal and its date is still to be confirmed, obviously around the time we were plannin to play cork
also heard from a commitee member that we will be training in leixlip this year
according to the supporters club notes Derek Tyrell was signed from Mount Merrion..

So that's Maynooth, Leixlip and Newbridge we've had mentioned so far. I think it's fair to say it'll be in Kildare somewhere.
The same article has Peter Hynes as a centre half and Thomas Hyland as a forward so I wouldn't back it 100%!.
Tyrrell was with Malahide early in 2009 so he must have transfered to Mount Merrion for the start of the 09/10 LSL season in that case, Mount Merrion/Mount Moneymen have lost alot of players during the past month as they are now broke so he could have been part of their exodus
played against that new keeper from rovers a good few times,he is a good keeper, well was under age, hope he still is...
I have a feeling that Stephen Conlon was part of their Under 20 side last season as I recognise our new goalkeeping coach from before from him being manager of the under 20 side..
I was talking to Liam Lynch on facebook just now.. The reason he couldnt commit to staying with us was that he is going to the USA for a soccer scholarship in September and couldnt sign for a league of ireland club.. He said that he would have loved to stay as he loved it here..
We might see him back with us in the near future . You never know..:)
You might have signed a little gem there. Cousins' brother , Andy, was manager at Newbridge Town last season and when Tony was at Kildare Co, they would have played a couple of friendlies so he knows him well.
He is 27 now but would have made an impact in the League of Ireland already if it wasn't for his job as a fireman. He played in the second highest Leinster Senior League division with Newbridge and there aren't many better players than him in that division.
A left footed attacking midfielder with an eye for goal an a great shot. Kildare Co were renting Newbridge's ground which probably explains why they couldn't poach their best player and captain.
Hope he does well for you, I'm sure he will
Well Martinho II. Sorry for the late reply. I decided not to make the venture up Sat as it was very foggy down this way as I'm sure it was for you in Longford as by pictures I seen!!! We apparently are not going to be signing Adrian Murphy and Stephen Lynch according to reports down here.
Well we just had them training with us. Lynch wasn't really any better than what we have at the club already. As for Murphy he was only willing to commit to the club til July.
[He is 27 now but would have made an impact in the League of Ireland already if it wasn't for his job as a fireman"
Theres nothing worse than seeing a lad having to leave the pitch to attend to a raging housefire down the road. Completely interrupts their concentration.
Hot off the Press!
I got a text just now from one of the players dads... We are playin Tullamore Town tomorrow in Tullamore at five pm... Anyone looking for directions give me a shout if ye are heading down or send me a pm..
with regards to players gone on the sligo forum a sligo fan posted that Gary Curran has signed for Galway Utd.. On another forum Brian McCarthy and Tom King were on trial for Galway Utd the other night.Jason McCartney has apprently signed for Sligo Rovers for next season...
Won't make it personally but sure you can give me a report if you're going to the dinner dance tomorrow.
