Liverpool they were the first team I saw on the tv as a kid
Teams i look out for- Fiorentina, Barcelona,Athletic Bilbao, NAC Breda,Hertha Berlin and Banfield(Argentina)
Dont really mind what score their matches finish just like to see how they are all doing
I do love the intricate sense of identity, passion and heritage that goes into Irish people's choice of which foreign football club to follow.
Did they happen to have a nicer jersey than the other team they were playing that day.....? :)
What was the first international football team you saw on TV by the way ? I'd be fairtly confident it wasn't Ireland.
Bilbao vs. Tromsø is being streamed live online by Basque TV tonight:

the randomness of some of these second teams just shows what a weird bunch we are...
"Im a die-hard Liverpool fan through and through. Been to Anfield once too in 91. You follow Bohs? Thats weird man..."
"Yeah, i folly Bohs alright but i look out for FC Katmandu, 1.FC Wiggles and Hergeeflurgee from Norway"
Glory hunter!!:p:p:p:
ONly joking, they looking very good this season,Will ifnish ahead of man city and will prob sneak 4th if the top 4 hav a bad season..
Im a liverpool fan, more a liverpool fan than a league of ireland supporter.JUst the wya i feel, father brought me up as a liverpool fan rather than being hardcre athlone and i started to go dwn to town matches and had a interest.Go down everyweek though hoping we do well. But if be more upset if liverpool lost than if Athlone lost to longford! IL probably get stick for this,ah well
Have I got a pick on me sign around my neck steve or have I missed the point, should I get my coat and hail a taxi?
Some one started a thread on which foreign football team do you follow and I said Liverpool saw them on tv when I was three, get over it.
Sligo Rovers, they are far enough from me to be classed as foreign.
Across the water, Everton.
In mainland Europe, Barcelona
Liverpool but certainly wasn't cheering for them the other night when we played them.
Big leeds fan make it to a lot games but only when loi season is over. Dont come anywhere near limerick though.
Was about to include that too :D
The Irish Independent got it right when they said anyone cheering the schoolboys in Liverpool jerseys was supporting a brand, not a team.
At least the Bohs reserves have the same hook that's supposed to bring in crowds to the first team games - they're local.
I support Celtic. Also like Olimpija Ljubljana.
Liverpool as well, like many on here they were my first love from way back, have very, very vague memories of the 1974 Cup final.
Also kind of follow Inter (from a good way back, not so much now) and New England, and have a grá for a couple more teams from here and abroad for various reasons.
Now being in the UK for 8 years, I have been attending games at some of the clubs near where I have lived - so I suppose you could say I 'follow' them to a degree.
Previously: Bournemouth, Colchester United
Current: Daggenham & Redbridge, Leyton Orient.
Apart from the O's all are having pretty decent starts to the season!
Also been to see Southend, QPR and Arsenal although the former I can honestly say I only look out for the results to slag off a colleague :D
Steaua Bucharest...
As i now have moved to Seattle,USA i am hooked on the MLS so i have been following the Seattle Sounders FC.
They have the highest attendance in the whole MLS, they are getting over 30,000 for every home game and Fredy Ljunberg is a hit with the locals. Keep an eye out for a young columbian by the name of Fredy Montero, he will be playing somewhere in Europe next year, top class.
JCL!!! :D
My favourite player of all time. Loved watching him and Milan on the Monday night highlights on Network 2. But as soon as he retired I lost interest in Milan.
Just to add something to my post above. My passion for Spurs really took a nose dive when I travelled from Cork to Dalymount to watch them play Bohs 6-7 years ago. They put out a strong team, but put in one of the most inept and gutless displays ever, and got hammered 3-0.
I was already a massive CCFC fan at the time, but that performance reinforced my belief in the quality of LOI football.
In a word...............NO
QPR. When I moved to London aged 10 they were my local team so I've followed them ever since (in 30s now). Sligo Rovers since birth though due to birthplace and family (at least 4 generations of Rovers fans now).
One good thing about summer LOI is that I can get home to more Rovers games nowadays!
Brighton & Hove Albion F.C., although after Tuesdays result, I'd prefer if I didn't!
Big fan of Peruvian side Deportivo Wanka, SMEG FC in the Chinese Superleague, and of course perennial South African also-rans Dangerous Darkies.
I'm an Aston Villa fan so have been following that with one eye seeing how Juan Pablo Angel has been getting on. Last season was class...this season, not so much. The Sounders look good though. Montero is a quality player. Jaque and Le Toux are impressive as well.
Also like AC Milan
I like Young Boys.......!
Celta Vigo
