Apologies, our players didn't come out, just officials who then went back inside. The crowd are drifting away
Brother reckons they're not coming back. Wouldn't see the likes of this in the Playsport 365 Wexford Football League! :o
What an absolute joke, no doubt there'll be some nice fines handed out here.
Seems very petty but will wait to hear what the full story is. Cant imagine clubs want a fixture pile up. I'd imagine that away teams are entitled to warmup or train on the actual pitch prior to kick-off.
I'd say so too but the fact Limerick team left before kick off then both clubs will prob be in trouble. Surely the ref had right to tell Mick Wallace to let them train on main pitch?Quote:

Well if what the Wexford fan above says is true and that Wallace agreed to let them warm up in the end then Limerick seem to be more to blame. I'd expect them to be hammered if they refuse to play.

I can understand him wanting to keep the pitch in good condition, but that seems a bit weird to not let any team use the pitch prior to kick off. I wonder is there any preceedence for this. Unfortunately I sure this will be used as another stick to beat the league with by the media.
Yeah it does seem strange that they'd insist on it tonight when they never did before. Either way I expect Limerick will be hammered as I said already. You can't just feck off on the bus like that whatever your grievances. I feel sorry for the fans of both teams who turned up to watch but particularly Limerick. Just in relation to the warming up on the pitch issue, I think Derry used to make us warm up on a side pitch before the game. I may be wrong but I think that was the case. It was never a big issue really anyway.
We have a story up on the Limerick sitauation. We cahtted with Mick Wallace.
We ask all teams to warm up on our main pitch not even for the internationals they warm up on the training pitch. No one has ever refused. It shows respect for the facilities to agree with this.Quote:

Two things, 7.20 is far too late to offer it to a team to do a warm up, and why does Wallace have a problem with teams using the main pitch? All across football teams do this and the fact Wallace has had two requests in one week should tell him something.Quote:

Both sides blaming each other, it will be interesting to read what the ref puts in his report. I would have thought the ref has the casting vote on issues like this. If Wexford were instructed to allow Limerick the use of the main pitch then they would be obliged to comply.

There is little or no lighting on the back pitch. I know that there are lights at one end, but half the time these are facing out into the car park. Not sure if they were facing in or out, but they wouldn't be of a good standard anyway.

Mick's comments
Limerick were offered the usage of the back pitches were teams would normally warm-up but refused on the grounds of health and safety.
At 7:20pm, Mick Wallace decided to allow Limerick warm-up on the main pitch in the interest of getting the game played, but Limerick allegedly refused this offer, as it was too late, and went home on the coach back to Limerick.
Mick Wallace spoke to extratime.ie afterwards and explained the situation as he saw it.
"This is a total joke and an event like this puts the game into disrepute. No other team this season has had a problem with this warm-up setup and no other team bar Derry City have warmed-up on the main pitch, including Wexford ourselves"
"At twenty past seven, I said they could use the main pitch but they said it was too late and they went home on the bus."
"It's a real shame too, as there was a big crowd here to watch the game despite the bad weather."
Correct, the lighting is not great but it's good enough to warm up on. Why not keep the pitch in perfect condition for the game.Quote:
