By rewarded I mean get a goal of the month or goal of the season award.

A penalty should never be in any goal of the month competition imo.
Show wasn't as good last night with Tony O'D as presenter- didn't suit him at all I thought.
It'll be interesting to see who's presenting it during the Olympics as I'm pretty sure Tony O'Donohoe and Con Murphy will be off to Beijing
roddy collins, john gill, and paul mcgee with special guest pat dolan the dream team:D:D:D
I can see it now...Dustin, fresh from winning the Eurovision, presenting the show:D
I actually meant Marty Morrissey, just couldn't remember his name at the time I was posting. ;)
Don't RTE have bog ball games on Monday evenings during the summer? Will MNS keep its time slot?
Will be interesting to see if bump in tv audience with The Premiership on beforehand even though usually fairly low ratings for RTEs English football program..
never??
the fact was that the penalty was under high pressure, the individual nvolved perhaps came into it and it was a complete class finish. pardon them for being different and thowing it in.i for one was happy to see it again.
you'd probably argue his other goal shouldn't be included either:
"no goal where a keeper got a finger tip to it should be in a GOTM competition':o
RTE have chosen Penalty kicks in the past for consideration of best goal. I remember Jimmy Magee presenting some "top ten goals" or "goals of the World Cup" sometime in the 1980's and Horst Hrubesch's penalty in the 1982 Semi-Final shoot-out versus France was included.

(after 4:00 minutes, also linked on Youtube two blokes have re-inacted the shoot-out perhaps incl. exact movements from the players)
I had questions back then too.
