Personally I'd tend to ignore the law in this case.

If I want a drink on Good Friday I'll have a drink. If I don't I wont.

Going out of your way to get drunk just because somebody says you're not supposed to is ludicrous IMO.

I think private bars can open, i know limerick had the bar open when they where playing in Pikes ground on a good friday.

If the weather's nice enough, I've been known to spark up the BBQ on Good Friday - beer, burgers, sausages. Also, hang out washing - that annoys the God Squad too.

Nice to see that everybody's disapproval with the law is resulting in a concentrated effort to get it changed... this country... :D

I'm heading back to Dublin next week and will be there over Good Friday. We are staying in a hotel and was just wondering are normal bars open & are hotel bars open?

Normal bars should all be closed. Hotel bars should be open to residents & certain exemptions for trains...

Think the airport bars are open as well
