Hard lines lads. After McCourt went off you came back into the game. McCourt scored a stunning goal, the ball was played to him just inside the Rams half on the touchline, took it on his chest, flicked it over the Rams players head, skinned another player and from a tight angle smashed it in off the bar. Davin O'Neill scored a good goal, but your finishing was poor tbh. Anyway good luck next season

Breaking News: Shane Barrett had a shot:eek: Not only that it hit the crossbar:eek::D
The Drink really wasn't out of their system. Kearney and Cummins were taken off and those of us in the clubhouse saturday and sunday were witness to their condition. Cambridge was taken off too he didn't look fit in training thursday night.
Incidently anyone know who was captain in Alan Careys absence?

Anybody see Kevin Murray on Sports Tonight last night spoke from the heart about the season.
I'm surprised he wasn't making a public appeal as to where his award as centre-back next to Gutsie on the Team of the Year is gone.

i drove up on monday and the first half on ramblers part was bad.we were blown away but we are a second half side anyway so i didnt panic. the first goal from mccourt was a bit of class on mccourts part, he flicked it over muckys head and mucky didnt have the pace to stay with him, great finish to thetop corner. the second was scrappy, derry player looked like he put it in with his arm. i thought that if we got to half time we could have ran um closer. after davins cracker from 25/30 yards derry looked like freaking out, and started to panic. we also had 2 glorious chances at end of 1st half which we should have converted at least 1.
lessons to be learned from this game: 1.we wont be getting as much time on the ball as 1st division as premier teams close you down quickly, so we need to execute passing faster and more accuratly, 2.the drink from the previous week took its toll. 3. need to take the chances we get.
overall it was good counting the different factors, long travel, winning league and the drink. learning curve. we were by no means played off the park. it must also be remembered that derry needed to win this game, their programme notes said that this was a 'must-win game' in financial terms and it would be a financial disaster if they failed to win.
